Rule no. 1 of Steam : Buy game on sale (daily deal or community pick) unless you really, really want it or like it. Up to you!

If you are not tied by having nostalgic memories towards SR2, then this game might be for you. Guess Volition took different approach at SR3 than gang related story in SR 2.

I am not tied to SR2, so I liked the game and it was alright to me. Didn't have high expectations.

Not only by doing story missions, you have quite lot of challenges and activies, you can let your mind to do whatever you want. By going overall rampage through city or modify your hideous character as you want.

As majority of games, mechanics are in some way broken, driving feels broken, glitching/stuck through floor, co-op bugs, to some users humour gets pretty repetitive and shallow.

NOTE: Typical CO-OP bug is insurance fraud. For some reason, host can't get cars or they keep disappearing, while his co-op friend can perform tricks since cars do appear.

Additional story DLC's (present in Season pass too) are enjoyful but quite short!

Overall, if you won't finicky some related bugs, you'll enjoy the game.

P.S.: Some story DLC's (not character/cars/outfit related one) are also present into Season pass. Would rather recommend buying season pass.

For what I have played, it's an interesting game, refreshing gameplay style but with some bugs, even sometime HK.exe failure. Possible SPOILERS BELOW :

Story set one of the busiest city, Hong Kong, between biggest rivals. The game gives few refreshing features, which is fighting. If you like or like in some way martial arts, then the game is for you. Lots of punching, throwing, kicking, disarming features. You can even aim for specific target, so you don't kick around for nothing. Quite some of running, jumping from vehicle to another vehicle, hijacking,...etc etc. Also, "time slow down" feature, while jumping from another to another car and especially at shooting.

You're being on 2 sides, as a cop and as part of group inside organized crime. More you hurt your gang rivals, more points you get, but more public damage you do, you get some kind of penatly points for police side. Of course you get points for doing some extra missions as usual.

Bad stuff? Driving physics, mouse sensitivity around axis. I tried to adjust much as possible as I could and it didn't work, it does need improvement. Same goes with driving. Another cons are unfortunately bugs, even when you start to play a game, in intro mission. Not to mention HK.exe failure or whatever is called.

Also, GPS is quite horrible, showing the wrong or longer route, not accurate (there is a specific mission you'll be WTF with it).

Game is different as GTA, refreshing in some ways. Worth of buying? Yes, but buy it on sale.
If I'll remember anything else, I'll add.
