This game is amazingly fun. I first discovered the game though a Next Fest event where I played the demo. I liked it already, so last Winter sale I purchased the game.

The game is indeed inspired by deckbuilders. You have dice which have certain faces and from the shop you can upgrade theose faces. Runs are basically dungeons with certain enemies, who all have attacks and status effects. You have relics which you can equip and special abilities. Then through upgrades you tailor the dice to suit your needs. There are multiple classes (which basically have different abilities and starting dice) which you unlock through play. During a run you level up the character, unlocking additional dice and giving you choices between maintaining a streak (for higher score on the run), life, abilities, gems, gold, etc.

It's a quick game, runs are short, playing is quick. Through all the unlocks (whether it's relics, abilities, classes, new dungeons, etc) it offers variety. Icons and such are clear, you can process information quite quickly and more is gradually added through the unlocks.

It's certainly a recommend, especially if you like quick deckbuilders. It has a certain addictiveness to it and due to the quickness of the gameplay and runs it's a game that is perfect for short bursts.

Sagrada, a board game with dice where you create colorful stained glass windows. I quite like this one.

The idea is fairly easy, the game is 10 rounds, each round random dice get rolled (5 colors, 6-sided, amount is n*2+1 where n is the amount of players) and you place two on your card. The card has a few locked boxes where either a certain number or color need to be placed. You can't place the same color number next to each other. There are a few tools you can use to break these rules, the amount of uses depends on the difficulty of the card. There are a few scoring parameters (3 public, 1 private) that you have to consider to get the most points.

It all sounds easy, but can be difficult depending on the drafts of the dice, your opponent picks and your own previous picks. It can be quite the puzzle, which makes it fun to solve it and win the game. Matches are fairly quick, about 10 minutes depending on the amount of opponents.

There is a campaign, with increasing difficulty. The campaign this way also introduces you to all the available tools and scoring parameters. Then there is the general AI play, solo play and multiplayer. Basically there is something for everybody.

If you like board games, this one is worth a try. If you also like puzzles, it certainly is worth a try.

It's a fun game. Beautifully made, lots of detail, fun story (deviates from history, mind), decent to good gameplay. Fighting is a combination of hack & slash for regular fighting and quicktime events like for executions. Nothing too hard or special, quite servicable. The thing that I loved the most was slowly moving like Romans, grouped with shields against archers, it makes you feel like a legionary.

It's not a long game, finished it in around 6 hours, but that's fine. It doesn't overstay its welcome and is simply a nice inbetweener. If you like a fun story with servicable combat, go for it.

It's a very enjoyable game. It's a little top down racer that is a tad simplistic in presentation, but does require attention on the actual racing part. Very customisable, a few different modes and simple fun. I finished one of the event modes (as in played 35 events which consists of multiple races, each class has it's own event) and I really enjoyed it. Quite liked the impact of weather and tire wear. I can see myself playing the other modes as well.

Seriously, for the discounted price of € 0.79 you can't go wrong with this.

A classic, that's how I would describe this game. I originally played the base game of The Guild somewhere in 2003 when I loaned the disc from a friend. I later on purchased The Guild Gold edition in 2006 on disc and played it extensively. It's one of those games that always has been installed on my pc and when it was on sale it was a no-brainer to repurchase it on Steam. It's a game that I always enjoyed playing and that I always can get back to.

It's a medieval business and town simulator. You run a business, or more if you want to, and you try to lead your dynasty. There are 15 professions in the game, 11 which are available from the start and 4 that are available after game start. Besides running the business there is also some politics. You can hold offices and to get them it might be necessary to bribe or scare someone. You can switch professions if you want to, though I wouldn't do it until you mastered one.
You also need to take care of your family. Without children, you have no heir and the game will end. When you die, one of your children will take over (you pick which) and you continue playing as them.

There are various gameplay mechanics going around and it might take some time to get used to them. The tutorial teaches the basics, but the rhythm of the game truly is found in playing it. The advantage of the Gold edition is that it includes the expansion, which adds Nurnberg which is a massive big town. This means lot of expansion possibilities and other opportunities, which is good for learning and mastering the game.
Time flows in a way where a year is represented by a day (lasting from 6.00-22.30). At the end of the day, the bookkeeping is done (salaries paid and such) and political decisions regarding appointing offices are done. So it's kinda turn-based, but within the turn it's real-time.

It's also a game that you can set up to be as relaxing or challenging as you want. There is an overall difficulty that you set and you can set the difficulty per competing dynasty. Then there is the town selection which impacts the difficulty and additionally you can choose to have assignments (varying from none to very hard). Last but not least your own choices in the game impact the flow, since you choose yourself whether you want to focus on one business, have multiple, whether you dabble in politics or the scheming, etc.

Since it's an old game, the graphics are dated. However, the game still keeps up. I did add a ddraw.dll to remove mouse lag, but other than that I haven't run into any issues while playing on Win 10. While other reviews mention crashes, I haven't experienced them. Not in the Steam version, also not in the disc version that I played for years. There are some bugs in the game, though I never ran into gamebreaking ones and the ones that are there never bothered me.

I recommend this game, always have. Due to the way you can set up the game, everybody can find their sweet spot. In my opinion it's a game that people should try out since it's a very enjoyable game that has that "one more day" principle. I love those.

I bought this in the Summer sale. It's already rather cheap, but in the sale it's seriously cheap. And I have to say, it's a lovely and charming little game. The puzzles aren't that difficult, though various levels required some good looking and thinking taking the tunnels into account. You can complete the levels with collecting all items, but it's not necessary. It's a relaxing puzzler, which is nice.

As others have written in their reviews, the game could use a sort of random level generator to prolong playing. It's a good inbetweener, since levels don't take that long. Regarding achievement fanatics, the achievements are easily gotten along the way.

I recommend this game for people who like puzzlers and are looking for a nice quick one. I also recommend this for kids, it's a nice game with low pressure for them to play.

So today I finished my run to the Archdemon with the third class. Got the game around release date, did a run to the Archdemon with the first class. Year later I did a run to the Archdemon with the second class. And again around a year later (this year) I did my third run. As if it's becoming tradition.

I quite like this game, it's a nice spin on Diablo. The mechanics are simple, you discover cards you can use as abilities and you select some to which you have direct access. You can use them quickly by pressing the numbered key, it becomes quite intuitive. Should you come across a situation where a card not in your hand, but in your bag, you can quickly switch them out. Certainly nice when you want to switch between ice and fire attacks, for example.
Cards fit in three categories: Active abilities/spells, consumables and passive abilities. The first costs mana to use each time, the latter always occupies part of your manapool. So if you have 10 mana and a passive ability that uses 4 mana, then you have 6 mana available for active stuff. That is something to take into account when you select your hand. The consumables can be recharged in the town, or additional charges can be found in the dungeons.

There is no free roam, you walk along paths. While it may seem you can't really dodge things, once you learn how the enemies attack, you certainly can walk between projectiles if you pay attention.

The three classes do have a different feel. The warrior is strictly melee, the rogue is a range character and the mage is technically ranged, but has a sidekick that is melee. Each class has its own cards. As said, the beauty is that you can change your hand at any time and that through the various abilities you can create your own playstyle and even simply test things.

The story is nicely told, the graphics are lovely, cards can be upgraded and the overall feel of the game is a good one. However, the major pro for this game for me is the Flexiscope. When you do a playsession, you can choose yourself how long you want that to be with an estimate of the time needed to play. The longer it is, obviously you will get more rewards. This lets you tailor your experience to the time you have, without the need to save in the middle of a dungeon. A run to the Archdemon with one class is about 10 hours.

As said, the game is a nice spin on Diablo. It has its own unique mechanics, but it certainly does get "the feel". So if you want to try a hack 'n slash dungeon crawler with a twist through cards, do it. I can certainly recommend it.

It's a nice take on the Solitaire game. You play with crews and the crews represent a suit (Ace, numbers, Jack, Queen and King). When you place the Ace, the suit becomes active and the J, Q and K cards get charged. Play a charged card and it gives the crews power. Matches have up to 4 crews active and the mixing of the powers leads you to solving the Solitaire "puzzle".

The rules are slightly different from the real Solitaire, but you still have to clear the board in neat piles of suits. It plays fairly quick and is ideal for when you don't have much time.

There is a campaign that is a few hours long. It currently also has a mini side campaign to gain an extra suit for skirmishes and from whwat I've read in the roadmap later this year another mini campaign with a new suit will be released. So the devs are still working on the game, which is nice. When the campaign is over, you still have the option to keep playing missions, which basically are skirmish matches. You also have the option to actually play skirmish, where you can select the suits to play with. Lastly there is a countdown mode, which basically is a bunch of timed skirmishes where placing cards on the piles adds time.

All in all it's a neat little game with a few game modes that are nicely put together. As said, the various crews and crew powers give a nice variation. It can be played in a few hours to completion of the campaign and is ideal for short time moments. I recommend this game if you like card games and just want a simpler nice inbetweener.

Also a note for the achievement hunters, you can 100% it as you go. The only achievements out of the way are the ones tied to the Countdown and Skirmish, but those are fairly easy to get as well. I'm not an achievement hunter, but I got them all through just playing the game.

Another great title in the Neptune franchise. This time with the Sega Hard Girls. As per usual with this series it's partly a dungeon crawler with turn-based battles and partly a visual novel. And of course it's a parody on gaming as it is and it knows it.
Like the Re;Birth games the story is a tad wacky, the battles are plenty, the characters are lovely and the humor is good. The game has the odd difficulty spike on the bosses and occassionally you need a small grind.

The battle system has a small change in the Fever mechanic, but in the end it doesn't change too much about how you go at it. One thing that is noticable is the familiarity in monsters and dungeons. It's a bit too much recycling of the assets in that, I mean I haven't played the Re;Birth games in about a year now and I still remembered the layouts.

The recommendation I gave the Re;Birth games goes for this one as well. If you like games that don't take themselves too serious, has decent pacing with turn-based battles and are partly VN, then go for it. And if you a Nep fan, then sure as hell play it.

This game surprised me. I got this game in a Fanatical pick & mix bundle quite a while ago. I simply added it cause I had 6 games I wanted and the next bundle level was at 7 picks. It look interesting enough, but it wasn't on my radar. I read some quick reviews back then and the major consensus seemed to be that it's good for story, characters and world building, but that the combat was tedious and boring. Many reviews stated that the best way to play it was on "story mode".

I fully agree thatthe story, characters and worldbuilding is great. I quite adore some of the characters, the lore is fun and it's put well together. Like with other story based games that have you immersed, I had my "oh no" moments. Love those moments.
At moments it does feel like a lot of inspiration comes from Bioware RPGs, but that's ok. They're good RPGs and this game takes it strong enough that it does come around in its own.

The art and sounds are lovely as well. The voice overs are great, but that's not surprising when you see names of the voice actors. Dialogues are presented through both text and voice over. I really love the animated portrets during these dialogues, you see the resemblance of their movements to the movements of the character . It fits and gives it an extra touch.

I disagree with the reviews saying the combat is tedious or boring. I quite liked the combat. You fight with weapons, but through the mascherines you also have magical powers. It's nice that you can have this combination. I quite liked the pausing, planning and using of these powers. I did read about imbalances and difficulty spikes, but I didn't come across them. I played on "normal" and I found the combat a tad on the easy side.

All in all I must say that this game was totally worth it. As said, I got it very cheaply in a bundle, and I can honestly say I got much more value out of it. If you like story, character depth and world building, together with battles that you can tactically pause, this certainly is a game you want to play. I fully recommend this game.
