Early Access Review
I wanted to like this game so much. But I am already fed up with it after about an hour of just doing the training tutorials.

I can't get past the basic game movement controls, inventory, etc. Walking is hideously slow, sprinting makes you exhausted, and you get caught on items/objects/people/etc. In your inventory, you have to "examine" items to see details about them. (For example, I can quickly double-click to add water packs to my inventory, but to see whether they are full or empty? Right click on the individual ones, click "examine," and THEN it tells you if it's full. Uh... no.)

I had to do the first part of the tutorial 3 times because it had so many bugs. The first time, I interacted with a tutorial "quest marker" before I had actually put a tool in my inventory. The only way to exit that section of the tutorial was to put the tool in my hand... but I had no tool yet... so there was no way to exit the screen. Had to restart.

Then, the next time, I was putting water packs in my inventory. I accidentally dumped one water pack on the ground. But, again, in order to exit that specific part of the tutorial, I had to put THAT water pack from THAT slot in my inventory into a water machine. Couldn't exit my inventory to pick up the water pack. Had to restart again.

Then, it took me 5 full minutes to get into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ helicopter. The tutorial said to use spacebar to jump in at a specific point (highlighted by a tutorial "quest marker"). Well, no manner of jumping, running and jumping, jumping while close, jumping while far away, etc. would get me in the damn helicopter. The only way I could get in was to go around to the other side and enter in a different entrance, and even then I think it was a miracle, since I hovered in the air unexplicably for several seconds while trying to get in that doorway.

Then, in the next part of the tutorial, half of my time was spent trying to make sure my cursor was within the 5 pixels necessary to open the airlock button on multiple sets of doors (but not the "cycle airlock" button, which was right next to it). Then, I was supposed to switch out fuel cells in a buggy, but taking them out and putting the new ones in apparently requires some kind of god-like precision using the rotate button... or something....

Not to mention that, when you move your mouse to look around, your view moves hella-fast, but when you move your mouse in an inventory screen, the cursor lags slowly behind your movements. There were no settings to change your mouse sensitivity, so you're stuck with it.

Honestly, maybe this game is awesome. But I have played a lot of 1st person games, and the mechanics of this one are so ponderous that it isn't even worth it to me to learn more and keep trying. Maybe if I could get through the creeping walk, getting stuck on corners/container lids/etc., having to spend forever centering your cursor on little buttons, or spending minutes rotating fuel cells so that I can get them at the right angle to switch them out (so that I have enough fuel to take another 90 second jaunt in a buggy), I could get to the good stuff. But it's too maddening, so I'm gonna go play something else.
