Though quite a short game coming in at 4 hours for the normal campaign, it was really enjoyable. Each unit has its uses and each enemy has its weakness though not always in a Paper->Rock->Scissors fashion which means you don't HAVE to have unit A to counter enemy 1. Sometimes B works great, maybe C in a chokepoint. Suffice to say I didn't find myself massing 4 of one and steamrolling the game, though I'll be damned if archers aren't great. Only thing it's really lacking is some kind of replay value besides the "Kill 15,000 viking" achievement. Which is a shame because as you play you can unlock items and traits to use with your starting commanders... if you start a new game.

It feels strongly like a simplified (not in a bad way) Dwarf Fortress. It was a bit short, it was a fair bit fun. Like most rogue-likes, I decided to beef up my character (evil knight) and used him to successfully destroy everyone. Despite being in Alpha, it is a playable and enjoyable game though I do hope several areas in the game are expanded upon. Most importantly, I feel the tutorial should be built upon to show the player how certain things are handled foremost in my mind, how prisoners are done. But, it is easy to figure out and so not a huge problem.
