Well, here we are. The start of a beautiful Minecraftship in The Late Krew fashion. It's currently an unofficial project that is being hosted by The Laughing (K)Ned. We hope to manage a full blown 24/7 server for TLK use in this endeavor in the near future. But until then, we need the players. For now, this is a private group until we get enough regulars to make it a public group.
Server IP (Private; Whitelist AND Hamachi requirements in place): 22.214.171.124
-The server is Hamachi based. If you are in TLK and want to play on the server when it is up (usually during the late afternoon to late evening, Eastern Time), then you must post on the forum page for the Minecraft server with your Steam and Minecraft name. Players will be evaluated. If you are accepted, I will message you the next time you are on and give you Hamachi data for logging in. Without it, you will not be able to play!
Tried to play this game. I do love some of its implementations, but the movement is very realistic. Clunky, doesn't respond as quickly as you want it to, and targeting is a pain in the neck.
You can try playing the game with a controller. It does make melee easier as a lot of attack buttons are mapped to the shoulder/trigger buttons, but unless you can adjust the sensitivity up for your comfort, it is pretty moot. And don't try to be an archer with a controller. They have yet to calibrate it so that you can aim, shoot, and reload with one.
You get 4 classes (heavy melee, ranged melee, fast melee, and ranged), and a couple of different mission types. You can customize your class helmets when you unlock more options.
The game is a lot of fun. Very political, as are a lot of Paradox games. You have as much as 400 years worth of in-game time to pick a province, build it, expand it, and keep it. You can fight other provinces for control (provided you have good cause, of course) and build your territory. Marry your heirs, sire children, build alliances, and build enemies. Also, be sure to watch out for plots and attempts that will work to ruin your hard work.
I also recommend anyone wanting to get some practice in start with Ireland at the very start of the game timeline (1066 AD). Play as the Duke of Dublin or Leinster. Ireland also remains untouched and isolated for the first century or two, so it gives you a chance to get your feel for the game. Just DO NOT PLAY ENGLAND UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW THE GAME WORKS! Hint: Normans, Scots, Muslims, and so on...you really want that much to deal with and not know what you're doing?
