I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon to say the PSN has had a terrible track record of data-breaches for me, and the fact that I need to sign in to it to play is very unfortunate. It's a shame that no good thing remains untainted by the constant hunger for corporate capital. Especially since a lot of non-PSN countries will now not be able to play this game.

EDIT: Well hey, looks like they didn't go though with those bothersome changes! With that, I can recommend this game as a fun romp with friends.

Short, but very clever and extremely charming- the music is wonderful, and the puzzles are logical if a little tricky sometimes. I very much recommend!

It's my favourite game, ever. Storytelling, worldbuilding, everything is astounding- the travel can be a bit bothersome, but that's been fixed in the recent patch. Get it!

Would I recommend Sable? I suppose you already know as you've seen this, but at time of writing I'm still working it out. I suppose I will lay things out.

Obviously, this is a beautiful game. Like, seriously, I've never seen a game with this aesthetic so well crafted. I love the puffs of sand coming from your bike as you go, I love the distant large structures, the dunes. I've always loved desert-scifi, so this had my heart... when I could see it. Occasionally the environment disappeared, places and things clipping out of existence for a moment- this is especially bad with moving objects and items and took me out of the magic every time. The colour styling of this game is also incredible... when it doesn't glitch out and turn everything bright blue when you walk out of the mask makers huts.

The story is also very good- very human. Sable is a very endearing protagonist and her journey is something I really got invested in. The various places she visited, the people she met- you grow with her. It's wonderful... However despite how many wonderful interactions you have with unique people, those interactions are not very deep. There's perhaps 2 or 3 characters that you have more than a passing conversation with.

Quest dialogue also mixes up- I completed a quest by finding someone a bit too early, then I could ask a few NPCs where that person was despite having found them. Honestly not that bad, as it didn't break anything for me, but I'm honestly really sad that the NPCs don't have any sort of reaction to the type of clothing/masks you're wearing. I understand why, but still... I suppose it's a positive- I wanted more interaction.

I'm sad you don't get a special super-secret achievement for getting all 165 chums- I did it... I suppose I just wanted to brag. That being said- if you plan to do so as well, GOOD LUCK climbing on the black moving rocks up to one. They turn invisible (As they move) and your grip stuffs up a lot.

Probably one of the worst glitches were the constant loud noises of activated towers playing suddenly while I was travelling for no reason. They were practically jump scares and ruined the atmosphere. The audio in general is finicky. I love the music, the sound effects, everything... but it crackles a lot and doesn't play well with eachother a lot of the time.

If I was going to summarise:

This is an amazing game. I really love how unique it is. It has a lot of unpolished bits. I'd describe my feelings for this game as "I love this game, but..." because as much as I'd like to recommend it there's a lot of stuff you'll need to put up with, especially for a 36$AUD dollar game. If those unfortunate glitches were not present? I'd say pick it up. As it is? Pick it up... when it's on sale. That's how I got it and I'm quite satisfied. I love the Chums so much so that was pretty much worth it as is.
