Trying this on the free play weekend. 9 hours, 3 playthroughs against 3 AI opponents.
The good:
- addictive gameplay - would play with friends
- content? (DLC, yeah...)
The bad:
- late game phases can get slow, even on max AI speed
- BUGS. I had to kill the game on 2 different occassions, one of them being a crash to desktop. On another, a card effect (reduces movement to 1) got stuck on me despite the AI having and then discarding the actual card. Ended up quitting that game too. The game also loses fullscreen mode on each Alt-Tab.

As is, I might still grab the main game on sale. No DLC though - I wouldn't want to support game devs who prioritise DLCs over fixing major bugs.

This has "we don't care" written all over it. For example:
One of the starting/tutorial-ish areas is this huge island with 3 armies to defeat, and absolutely nothing else. Nothing to collect, no sightseeing, no hidden booty. They even give you a ship so you can sail all around the island and make absolutely sure that, indeed, there is nothing else to do there. (other areas are ok)

The writing has the same vibe, though they do try to be funny. There's a fair share of really silly dialogues and a few embarassingly bad ones. The English localisation is ok but you can tell the game was written in Russian.

Quests are bland and sometimes feel they're only there to waste time between battles. Bait and switch endings, questgivers that send you to the same place several times, handful of fetch quests.

Skip unless you only care about the combat.
