You walk around an island with crippling slow sensitivity, reading pretentious quotes all while looking at consistently unstylized and gritty scenery, not even worth 39p, a packet of crisps is a better use of money.

I've been thinking about how to review this game and I just honestly don't know how, but this game has left me awe-struck, nothing else has left such an impression on me.

Game Maker 8 was my first step into programming, I was about 14 at the time but it's layout and workflow really appealed to me even at that age, you get straight into the meat and heart of game making with every new project, and that feels great, especially for the impatient like me! Step ahead half a decade and it's really fantastic to see Game Maker come so far, and better yet, integrated into Steam, something that's a part of my daily life.

I'd say that Game Maker is a great place to start if you're wondering what programming is like, it's syntax is very light and simple, stripped down to the bare minimum, but with still a wonderous amount of functionality.

Ultimately, Game Maker should definitely not be overlooked, although truthfully, it's 3d capability is a bit clunky, for 2d projects it would be my first and only choice every time.
