Sniper Elite 5 feels really scuffed. Despite having a lot of legit improvements and QoL changes from Sniper Elite 4, and the gunplay being significantly improved, this game feels like it SHOULD be better than it actually ends up being.

The main issues of note (imo):

- AI absurdly over-perceptive compared to SE4, as well as other general AI issues (Even on normal/medium difficulty they spot you very quickly, even through foliage you can't even see through yourself. AI frequently flipflops from braindead to picking you off across the map like Simo Häyhä).

- Enemies wearing helmets are an annoyance (Funny flak/shrapnel helmets shrugging off high powered rifle rounds like they're made out of titanium. Makes shooting for the head (especially from behind) on most enemies an issue. I don't remember helmets being nearly as much of a problem in SE4).

- Movement feels far more sluggish than previous titles (Animations much slower in general, and too easy to accidentally do the wrong action, particularly with things like dropping down from ledges and climbing vines).

- Confusing map design, and lots of invisible walls (Plenty of areas you have to go the long way around to get into, and barely any shortcuts to connecting areas. Also, lots of fences and railings that you can't vault over, which forces you to go all the way around them).

- Lots of OOB spots in the terrain, and general stuck spots (Such as running too close to a wall and glitching out of bounds accidentally, which more often than not ends up with you perma-stuck and you're forced to reload a save. This ended up happening several times in different levels during my solo AND co-op playthroughs).

- Generally plenty of bugs, especially in co-op mode (Glitched animations, slow LoD fade-in, netcode issues, unkillable enemies, even as far as some softlocks in modes like survival (e.g: 2 tanks becoming unkillable and making finishing the mode impossible)).

- Lackluster ending (even by sniper elite's usual "B-movie" plot standards).

Game is pretty fun however when it's not being buggier than a Bethesda game. If you really want to buy it, I'd recommend waiting until rebellion fixes some of the more significant bugs with the game, or just wait for a sale.
