It's the lamest excuse ever, but it's a slow burn.
10 hours in? Ehhh...
15 hours in? Huh, this is getting good
20 hours in? Oh yeah now we're talking
and here at 30 hours, the new highs in my enjoyment of the game have not stopped.

practically all the systems in the game take a bit of time to open up, but once they do, they play nicely together and create really fun gameplay.

Bug wise, i have seen few bugs and had exactly 0 crashes in my time with the game, an impressive feat not only for Bethesda, but for any AAA game over the past 5 years imo.

The main story writing is alright, but the side questlines really shine here. The crimson fleet is easily in my top 3 most well written bethesda questlines of all time.

for me? It's a 10/10

It's without a doubt the most impressive game Bethesda has ever produced.

!!! I've only had this game launched for 6 minutes and will be refunding it !!!

No 21:9 aspect ratios means stretching on my ultrawide monitor, and I am not really up for changing aspect ratios in monitor settings and windows every time i want to play this game and then stop playing it again.

Also, the implementation of AI conversation stuff seems at a very short first glance poor. In the intro bit to have you test the conversation mechanic, you will be asked "How was your day?" by a character. I responded "not too great" and the AI responded back "That's great! A positive attitude goes a long way!" Or something like that. An extremely weird response. And the voices are ofcourse AI generated on the fly, which means that it sounds unnatural.

However, I probably would've kept going with it if not for the ultrawide stuff and to be honest would revisit it in the future if the ultrawide stuff was fixed

Look, look, I get the negative reviews. The water looks pretty damn disappointing. The game might feel a bit too arcade-y and feels more like it would've served well as a DLC to The Hunter.

But damn, my friends and I have been having fun all day since it released. Competing the 3 of us around a single lake to get the most bites or the biggest catch has been fun and we just lean back and chill.

I am very optimistic about where this could go, but with this launch, I'd sincerely hope that EW will work hard on fixing issues and maybe getting the water looking a bit prettier and also release a lot of free content. Eventually it would feel fine paying for DLC, but as of right now, I think some free content additions is in order.

If you have friends to get this with, I'd say still do it despite the negative reviews.
