The game is hard, but enjoyable. I think this fact gave birth to different variations of the game itself, so if you feel like it's impossible to beat the original - try some of the variations, like, Remixed Pixel Dungeon, Skillful Pixel Dungeon etc.
Thanks to the dev for making the game open source!
