I was really surprised and pleased to find that, while the physics of this game absolutely do render all movements that our dear Octodad makes completely ridiculous and hilarious, the controls are not completely bang-your-head-against-the-wall frustrating. Movement becomes intuitive (or maybe I'm an octopus) and the puzzles are simple and generally straight-forward but still enjoyable to solve. The dialogue, coupled with the absurdity of an octopus completing mundane human tasks, made my sides hurt from laughing. It's more than a little cheesy, but totally on purpose.

I'm a huge fan of classic point and click adventure games and grew up playing games from the Monkey Island series and the Journeyman Project, and I think that definitely influenced my overall enjoyment of Octodad. If you've come from a similar background, this game is highly recommended!
