It's very, very rare to find a game so committed to constantly improving itself. The game now is almost entirely unrecognizable to the game I initially purchased, and is improved in nearly every way. Each DLC comes with free new features to play with, and they're committed to consistently rolling out new "custodian" content that just makes the game more enjoyable for everyone.

If you like Grand Strategy games, and Sci-Fi, give the game a shot.

Early Access Review
Subnautica is all about exploring a hand crafted alien world after a crash landing that leaves you with just a life pod with basic supplies and a fabricator. The entire planet is one big ocean, full of strange and often hostile life. Survival is an early challenge, and there's certain creatures honestly best avoided, all the way up to late game, but exploration is the main driver. Easily one of the most immersive games I've played. Even without permadeath, I've found myself in butt-clenching terror on hearing some of the ocean's more dangerous denizens. They're also slowly adding an actual narrative, and I eagerly await the game's completion.

The game is very combat light, with most 'weapons' being more about avoidance. Like a cannon that doesn't hurt the sharks so much as throw the smaller ones past the game's draw distance.
