Rocksmith 2014 is a great game. But don't listen people who says that Rocksmith learn you to play guitar : that is a lie -- or at least, a partial truth. However, if you already play guitar with a teacher, Rocksmith helps you to improve your skill with technics. For instance, Rocksmith will help you to move easily on the fretboard of the guitar and locate the fret you need to go quickly, without hesitations. It will helps you to change chord with effectiveness and accuracy. It will oblige you to "extend" your fingers more and more to cover 4 or 5 fret if you're not able to do it (or think so!). And you are going to gather speed. This is all Rocksmith will have to offer to you. But if you're not already in a process of learning -- by yourself or with teacher -- don't count on Rocksmith to learn it to you for a cheaper price than a teacher. It won't. It's an addition. Only. But that could be very appreciated, believe me! I saved months of works to gather skill and dexterity that Rocksmith gave to me. It helps me to get confidence with my instrument and teacher noticed it without knowing exactly how. For that, I recommend Rocksmith. But not for a person who never played guitar. Get yourself a good teacher, and after 8 months to a year, only, you could get Rocksmith. Have fun!
