i had changed the fps from 144 to 120 and it somehow let me go, this could be a problem with the game skipping a flag check due to the fps being that stupidly high, but i have no idea.
so far the game is alright hit detection seens like quite off? specially the enemies not being that clear to see on the maps and their animations not having a proper wind up so you just take sooner than you expect which is kinda crappy.



20 minutes in i get softlocked because i accidentally took out the second tutorial character out of my party, the objective in the next screen is to turn into it.
the game has no checks to see if you even have it on your party or not to force it again on it, i can't go back to the previous screen to re equip it nor i can progress.
20 minutes and i am already softlocked which kinda of testers this game had?

Early Access Review
Legitemaly fun game with various degrees of problems, from balancing to team sizes, and grinding not being rewarding enough.

the perk system sounds "good" until you notice that you can only have 1 perk per each stone type. (purple blue and grey)
so you are forced onto doing decisions which is a good thing! if a quarter of the perks for each char wasnt just generic stat crap.

the game is more casual than i wished, there isnt much of an comeback option if you get cornered by 4 players unlike for honor where if you play good enough you can really wipe all of them all out.
all of the characters atk nearly at the same speed which makes 0 sense, even less for balancing reasons, why should a great sword atk quicker than a light weight spear that you ACTUALLY NEED TO AIM at the enemy to hit?
some really strange balancing decisions like that which can turn a lot of people off.

the game has a "world domination" tile map system like for honor, with a twist that if 1 (yes only one) person that tries to help defend the invasion defeats the most "enemies" (literally rng pawns) wins free cash its a small amount only 10, but it being heavily rng dependant and only having a single winner is brutal for f2p people. specially that you put your better "unit dmg number" on that tile and you literally lose on the second pawn because the rng decided to flip the spinning clock on their side.

BUUUT i have to admit not locking away the characters behind a grind is properly good, and even if the perk system isnt funny broken or actually fun to experiment with well its free! and you can get a new perk every 2 matches or so.
you can fully unlock a char perk tree fairly quickly. which i was expecting due to being nexon they would paywall that but thank god they didnt.
people complain about the "only 5 pve matches" but i legit do not see that as a problem whatsoever i dont even know why they would play against bots just to steamroll them and nothing else.

the game needs HEAVY balance changes to make most of the chars properly viable instead of "the tanks are just meatier blade, the support loses to everyone and spike is worse assasin".

the "grey health" system is way too punitive, every hit is not totally converted to dmg when you block it, but you also dont trully block it, it turns the dmg you would take into grey health which WILL GET TURNED TO TRUE DMG WHEN YOU FINALLY GET HIT.
so if you blocked and dodged enough to literally get from 100 to 1 hp and someone somehow hits you? yes that will be a over 300 dmg atk because your whole ass health is grey.
which tbh is just way too overkill specially when the dmg of a char is barely 100 and you take 200 extra due to that system and it hit kills you.

and the assasin is also slow af on the atks for some reason meanwhile the warhammer guy is just better blade which is stupid.

the "God" system is also very lame you get one per match and you start with it, so not even working for it to actually deserve it. and its ONCE PER MATCH you used on the beggining? well good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck trying to do a comeback 30 seconds before the match finishing dumb ♥♥♥♥. the system shouldve had kept like it was in beta you work for it and when you had it you could use it multiple times during the match because you recharged the bar again.

Hello i will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about more the kind of errors most devs commits when doing a game "focused on controller" or "controller recommended" excuse my gramar error's im not NA at all but it's still pretty easy to understand me.
And second i only gave it a positive review because there's no middle one .

first and foremost heres the playlist of stuff i did found which i believe just me nitpicking for stuff that still isnt working 1 month away from release lel.
the most agregious one being the KEYBINDINGS settings.

well i liked that the char is as heavy as Sekiro but i didn't liked that he feels sluggish besides half of my step dodges still getting me hit and i couldn't barely tell when an enemy was on its windup animation or not.

First let the player make the menus bigger or at least let them decide how DARK the background of the menus will be, because i did had a hard time reading some stuff on them with the kinda transparent back texture + the small af font size.

Second is Fonts some are too small others are big enough but most are small af, give the players the option to change them or try testing the game more on a 1080p monitor that ain't as big as a tv and also go 2 to 3 meters away from the monitor and see if you can still read the text, if not theres something wrong. (literrally on the preview images on here already shows an example of that the BOSS font is smaller than the font you have on the menus wtf guys he is a boss it should be intimidating.)

Third which i also pointed on the video why in the hell, you would let your players ONLY change the graphics OUT OF THE GAME? how you will be able to know if the fps will be good when you are in game, when you can only change the graphics in the main menu which has a screen that runs over 190 fps on here. while the actual game barely gets 78 on my gtx960, come on its common sense configuring the graphics for fps on pc let players do that instead of choosing like in console without knowing wtf will change. is this a tech limitation? or what? i really wanted to know. the menus are still quite buggy or lacking mouse interations which i also pointed on the videos.

Third Color Coding, try to put your game screen on black and white (win 10 has a filter to do that) and see if you can still distinguish some stuff on the UI/world by the value only if not, i recommend you guys to change it or give some option to calibrate to a degree, go by me some people will thank you later.

this is more of a nitpick but if you guys already gave us the player a gamma and light option, go full on it and also try to create that "calibrate your screen until this image is barely visible" for people to calibrate the colors and contrast as close as you guys wanted them to really experience the game. yes i know very few actually does that but some want that extra immersion.

The character feels really bloodborn on the dodges so the weight of the equip actually affects the step dodge animation or not? i really didn't get that.

the default keybindings are good enough i must say even if it contradicts what i just said on the first paragraph lol the menuying is just that trash because of the menus sizes being quite inconsistent with the font size, like the options menu that is just bad.

i play a ton of hack n slash games and i finished some souls like because they felt good and this one doesnt know what it wants to be, is it bloodborne? why i can't recharge my life by hitting the enemies after i got hit them? why the windup are so bad? why the hell the hand enemy is literrally getting view blocked by my own character LOL, at least you guys had the desency of making the lock on be toggle instead of what dmc5 had done i still hate capcom for never fixing that thing.

i will probably not buy the game even if i wanted just by the fact that, i don't have a job but a liked enough what i had played.

the art direction is freacking LIT, but the characters feels unneceserally heavy on most actions for me to really liking playing it for long.

this feels like The Surge 2, its almost there it is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ close but it still fails, and that game was their third game lol. this is yours first good luck on fixing this on the sequel, if it ever gets any.


PS: i can't believe this isn't UE4 good job on the lightning, but still why most lights doesn't cast shadows? do i need to put shadows on ultra? plz put shadow casting on the flash light its a sin a flash light not casting shadow in this day and age of gaming.

edit1: literrally less than 10 minutes after i posted this i re launched the game and it had reset my mouse config why?

edit 2: BUG just finished somehow for some reason all of the times the 2° fat enemy (the one at the neon bridge part,i tried replicating this with the others it didn't happened) ate my char well, lets just say i not only complete lost his control but also MADE THE PHYSICS REALLY INSANE TO THE POINT OF ME SMASHING ATK AND SLIDING 40 METERS IN THE AIR????? in 2 occassions i was able to clip throught the ceiling of the map and meet the black hole in person, that was how far away my char was going.

edit 3: elevator bug, you can get on top of it, its over the playlist i linked, i would recommend you guys to edit the map itself to have a secret on the elevators people would like such a thing.

edit 4: not even 6 minutes after the last edit, i found that the staff casts stuff too high and on low ceiling places it clips the light ball into the map making the weapon useless, its a cool effect and sound sure but makes such weapon not even worth using at all.

This is a really good game, the gameplay could be a bit better because depending on your build the game will get hard or will get easy (full crit build is op man) some bosses can even get stunlock if you got the right combo and skill.
In overal is a really good metroidvania game it's beaultiful handrawn characters and the fine OST just make the perfect fit for the game.
