Really great little game with a fantastic artstyle, a classic survival horror must-play. A bit on the short side however, i collected 14/15 secrets and finished the game at just over 4 hours.

Multiple endgame rankings and unlockables add for a bunch of replayability however.

Love this game to death, its the most feature complete fighting game to have ever been released on modern hardware and then some

However, i do not support their DLC practices at all. Not in the least

100$ for outfits. You cant even buy the proper ammount of ingame currency to afford one outfit, so you have to spend double with every purchase to get one single outfit (Lowest ammount you can buy is 250 for 4.99, outfits are 300 each.)

Its disgusting that a full price game with a season pass has dlc like this. There is zero excuse whatsoever.

Its really fun overall if you dont play it super competitively, the combos are fun and gameplay feels good. Soundtrack and artstyle are really good. If youre a casual player of either chess or fighting games and would like a twist, then youll love this game!

However, if youre wanting to dive a bit deeper, some issues might arise.

I dont play chess, so i dont know any proper strategies, but be warned, it leans very heavy on the fighting game part

The game is extremely aggressive. Both in terms of chess and fighting games.

Theres little to no defensive options, and blockstrings can go on forever and ever if you know how to manage your meter right. Its even more exacerbated by the fact that there is guard breaking if you block too long.

Combos can be as long as you want if you have meter to burn, very easy to get into.

I hope they add some defensive options, or make the actual chess part of the game much stronger, as if you are good at the fighting game part, you can just bull-head your way through the chess part with ease. You can make normally really bad chess decisions and still win by a landslide by just beating the opponent in every match. its very hard to shut it down as you run the risk of losing your characters regardless of what tactical decisions you make

They had an amazing game going. Years of balance issues, shoddy patches, overpowered dlc characters, and aggressive micro-transactions have soured the game beyond the point where id recommend it to anyone new.

Just know that if youre starting out, youre gonna have nothing but garbage tier characters up against overwhelmingly powerful dlc characters piloted by veteran players. Its unforgiving as hell to any newbies, so tread lightly and be aware that youre going into an unbalanced, milquetoast, bland game that has lost its soul

Yeah its great. Be ready to get messed up by the bosses, but the one on one mech fights and spectacle bosses are some of the best in fromsofts library.

Everything you loved about the original with even more on top.

Has some pretty major performance issues, FPS tanks often, feels like a memory leak/ some kind of bug or something. I find that restarting my game makes the fps go from 20-30 to 100+ (RTX 3070 TI, Ryzen 9 5900x, 32GB RAM)

im sure the issues will be patched out in time though, still an amazing game!

this game gave me faith that triple A studios can still put out absolutely fantastic games that have personality. This really truly feels like a game that the developers LOVED making every step of the way

If you like devil may cry/bayonetta/Metal gear rising, and simple Feel-good stories with great characters, then buy this game right now. Its only 30 bucks

Very good, scratched the classic survival horror itch with alot of cool referenced and a good story to boot

This game goes on sale for 5 bucks, its a game worth full price. Just F*cking play it, the scores speak for themselves
