I don't know. I think it's a decent reimagining of the original Exile 2: Crystal Souls but it also somehow manages to lose much of the original charm. Spiderweb seems to be falling into a hole of mediocracy more and more each year. I feel like there isn't any polish on the games that the original Exile and Geneforge etc.. had. Is it a decent story, yes; gameplay mechanics work, yes; but there is just something here that is missing. I think Spiderweb themselves stated the reason in many a blog post. Jeff makes games to pay the bills, he hasn't made games because that's his passion for many years and I personally think that it has bled into his work. Therefore I can't recomend this game. Although for people that play and enjoy Spiderweb games I highly recommend playing the original games if you haven't had the opportunity to yet. The graphics are dated, cludgy mechanics, some flawed gameplay, but they have a charm that I don't seem to see in their games anymore.
