This is the first review that i've ever written. I have nearly 1600 hours on EU 4 (and about the same on EU 3!), but this DLC is almost a complete disapointment (I've bought all of them- including music and unit packs). Estates are more annoying than interesting and the new "Favor" system in Diplomacy is excruciating.

By far my biggest disapointment is in the nerfing of the colonization system. Why make changes no one asked for? It used to be fun and exciting to send out a couple of conquistatadores and discover gold or pick up some extra Monarchy points- but now nearly all the events are bad, and according to the Developer Diary, events overall have been lessened. Why? It was one of the most fun aspects of the game. The lack of returns on colonialism makes playing as any of the colonizing nations very unattractive. Paradox is very good at responding to what their customers want, so I hope enough people raise this issue that they will make a change.

My guess is that they will re-deliver those features in a new DLC pack called "New World Events Pack" or something...

It's not your fault, obviously. You just want to buy your legal copy of the game and to have it up-to-date. They are monetizing every aspect of this game and making it playable through the buy of DLCs. Here on Steam there is people who bought only vanilla and the game is extremeley unstable to them. I didn't bought the last two DLCs and I can't play just as before, so if I want a fix I must to pay. To sum up, you chose well, they not.

FerBaz and Liam- all perfectly fair critisms. I would say it's a plus how often they have Steam sales...but then again, perhaps it's just another way to sucker people (like me) in...since at this point i've bought nearly everything available.

I'm not so good speaking in english and maybe I sounded a bit rough, if so, sorry about that, but my thoughts in that regard (i.e Paradox being gently in their publications) is that they manage their development diaries like a public relations office. Hence, by selling meaningless and broken expansions at the price tag of a PC game, they show us they are as disrespectful as EA or SEGA. Since this is the third time that they do the same to us, I'm convinced of their dishonesty as a constitutive quality of his personality as a company.

Er, well, I mean in general. I read their development diaries and other updates, and they often seem to be trying to give what the customers want...but they surely take a wrong turn from time to time. This DLC was one of those times.

Paradox is very good at responding to what their customers want: meaningless DLCs at 20 american dollars.

Wait, is this true? According to the patch notes, they only lessened the land exploration pop-ups, not colonization ones.
