Cute characters try to calm the chaotic chrono-tomfoolery caused by the collapse of the cobalt core.

Fairly standard rougelite with a good gameplay loop and a decent variety of enemies, events, and abilities to choose from. The ost's a bop, too.

I've always loved rpgs where timing your hits and blocks benefits you, so hearing that the messenger devs made a game with that feature intrigued me. The story was pretty much what I expected, and while there were a lot of similar story beats, references, and callbacks to the previous game I didn't really feel like it was too hamfisted. The OST is, as usual, full of absolute bangers. The combat's fairly basic as these games go, but it was definitely serviceable enough to keep me interested for the duration.

My one nitpick is putting the true ending behind collecting all of a certain collectible, but it didn't take that long to find the ones I missed, so it wasn't too bad.

All in all, very solid game, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This was a weird one. Pretty much every line of dialogue in the cutscenes was a 50/50 shot of making me cringe or chuckle. Sounded like the VAs were having fun with it, though, so I can't fault the performances. The story was pretty short and simplistic, though I'm sure if you're into redoing the bosses in the boss rush/challenge/survival modes there'll be more to it than my playtime. Music was decent enough. My one concern is that my 3070 was running pretty hot from a game that seems like it shouldn't be that intensive, but I dunno if that's an optimization issue or just unity jank.

All in all, I don't regret the seven bucks or the hour and a half I put into the game.

I waited 6 months knowing fatshark would probably need that much time to make a functional, fun game.

I come back to find the crafting system is still garbage and chock full of rng, the game's still bug riddled, the level select is still rng gated, and the latest patch is 60ish% about new cosmetics for whales to vacuum up.

Fatshark, my expectations for you were low but good GOD how did you miss them this badly

UPDATE 12/10/2023:
One of the main things I was waiting on is a functional solo mode like they promised back in the 11/18/22 hotfix 1.06 update. It's now december, a year later, and not only is there no solo mode, it's apparently "not on their priority list". Apparently expecting them to do the thing they said they would do (that they did in the prior 2 games) was silly of me. What a shame.

Don't raid the admin tribe on official pvp servers, they'll rollback their server every time you're about to win and then ban you for having the audacity to dare fight them

Don't worry though, in a few months the game will be dead and replaced with another version for them to abuse their admin powers in (assuming you're dumb enough to buy the "free next gen upgrade" as a full price game)

Banning legit paying customers because you lost in pvp is beyond scummy. Saying you'd update the game for free and then backpeddling into demanding full price is scummy. Trying to re-release the same game with a new coat of paint as a pirate mmo is scummy. The only way these scumbags are going to get the point is if people refuse to buy the rerelease, so please don't support this behavior.

I was between murder investigations, so I took a case to track down a guy and nab a secret file he's got. Got his picture, so I know he's got brown hair, brown eyes, average build, average height- so I start tracking down Mr. Average. All I can find about him after half a day of investigation is that he lives in Xiu towers, potentially on or above the 7th floor, so I start asking around the neighbors to see if they know him. Don't get much info from them, so I decide to check the security footage- Bingo. I spot him going into 1201, and... Out of 1201 a few minutes later. Naturally, I head upstairs to let myself in for a quick peek to try and find the fil-aaaand that's a dead body. The hell?

Turns out this isn't his house, it's the house of a couple, and scrawled on the wall is "Theo and L forever" with a heart drawn in blood around the corpse. I scour the area for prints, find two that belong to the occupants, and one unknown set. Curious, I check their address book to see if they know any "L" and... Yeah. There's a "Lenny" living in 1203- right across from the victim. Surely... Surely it couldn't be that easy?

I head next door and check the doorknob for prints- they're a match for the third set in the crime scene. I knock, and... That's my guy. I do some sneaky movement and cuff him, then search his apartment. Can't find the murder weapon, but I do find the file I need, so I head down to City Hall, turn in my paperwork, and solve a murder that hadn't even been reported yet.

Sadly, the game bugged a bit and when I dropped off the file it didn't credit me for completing the mission, but hey, that's just some EA jank.

Really looking forward to seeing some bugfixes and polish, this has the potential to be really great.

Pretty good for the price point, clearing out mines are pretty good mindless fun, and once you figure out a good route to make sure you can upgrade your gear and get a decent weapon you'll probably be able to clear it easily enough.
