Just mentally block out anything Paper Mario related that came after TTYD (except for some parts of Super Paper Mario probably). This is the Paper Mario 3 fans deserve. It's everything good about Paper Mario turned up one higher with the bonus of a very character driven story featuring the most likable trio of protagonists out there. It's so good, you don't ask "Does Bug Fables measure up to Paper Mario's legacy?", you ask "Does Paper Mario's legacy measure up to Bug Fables?"

-Final floor is a bunch of rooms from other levels stitched together with literally zero new assets added.

-Final boss is a head with a wopping 1 frame of animation that shoot tears and turns into other bosses sometimes. Basically Hush but with more redundancy and fewer frames of animation.

-Greedier Mode just tweaks values to make it straight unfair unless rng blesses you and gives you autowin god combos. Have fun pumping tears into a mass of spawned enemies for a few minutes each floor!

-New enemies and bosses are horribly unbalanced and are all about unfair situations and unavoidable damage.

-New rooms that can instantly end a healthy run, cramming in enemies, bosses, or obsticles to such an extent that the difficulty curve just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gives up

- Dimensional portal enemies that constantly spawn enemies until klilled and show up on every floor. Their design is lazy and clases with the whole asthetic BoI has. Their balancing is way off, with ones that show up on the first floor giving challenges way too hard for players at that point in a run.

-Treasure rooms have a chance of containing nothing but poop and a trinket and regular chests have a chance of turning into a spiked chest right as you're about to open them. A reminder you're paying actual money to have the game simply ♥♥♥♥ with you.

-New items mostly consist of either useless gimmicks or boring trash and just pollute the item pool with unusuable ♥♥♥♥ that replaced what would have been usable items.

-Most of the new assets are either sprites recolored or stitched together or look like plain ♥♥♥♥. Some look like middle schooler's first attempt at making a BoI mod to impress their friends.

-Game doesn't work for many people (though it worked for me)

-Actual proper mod support locked behind 20$ of dlc.

-Oh wait lol the mod support interface is still ♥♥♥♥.

-Antibirth is a free fan mod and is miles better than this trash

Rebirth is a great game. Afterbirth was good too but feels like a step in the wrong direction with some of its design choices. AB+ feels like a ten mile job in the wrong direction bolding, italicizing, and underlining everything AB did wrong and turning BoI from a fun roguelike to a luck based torture roulette wheel.

Take your ten dollars and donate it to the Antibirth team because they know how to make a good expansion that feels like it was made with love and passion.

Overkill said they would never add microtransactions to Payday 2.
Overkill added microtransactions to Payday 2.
Overkill then added a Trollface mask.

You be the judge of whether or not this game is good.

Early Access Review
If more than 25% of your machines don't look like swastikas and you aren't yelling Arabic phrases you never knew existed whenever you press play you might as well uninstall the game

10/10

Simply a masterpiece

While the graphics are dated (they didn't look so great even for the time), this game has a legacy of narrative and gameplay exellence, making it the finest installment in an already amazing series.

There's too much to talk about in one review, since there's simply so much to do in a large world such as San Andreas. This game will keep you hooked to it for years and years to come, and that's not even including the amazing story, which has been and still is the pinnacle of Video game narrative. If you're reading this review column to decide on whether or not to buy this game. Stop reading and just buy it now. It's one of the greatest games feats of the modern gaming generation.

Have you ever read one of those "Haunted game" Creepypastas, that really left a sense of fear and dread in your throat, yet you wanted more?

Yeah... this is the equivilent of one of those.

The gams starts almost cringingly generic, with a bright and cheerful artstyle that looks like one of those bad Mario mobile game clones.

Oh how you will wish you stayed with that happy cute-sy world.
In short, you "evert" between worlds when you pass certain spots in the level. These spots take you to one-off your current world (world 1 you can evert to world 2, world 4 can evert to 3 and 5, etc.). These worlds have different rules, such as scenic clouds becoming platforms and trees becoming dead shrubs. The real notable difference though is the environment. Each world is like a literal decent into hell, and each new world you enter will make you wish you were back in the last.

The game as a whole is very short, but has such an impact that you will remember this game more than any other game you'll play in a long time.
