A great fever dream and trip to the past with PS1 Style Graphics, loaded with immense creativity, immense horror fun and otherworldly elements. Every "dream" captures the atmosphere and feeling of a real life dream successfully, as they are inspired by the creator's real life dream experiences.

Broken Reality is overall a fun, meme-packed, adventurous experience! It stood out to me from other various vaporwave playthroughs and casual games in general due to it's unique execution in map design, aesthetics and playfulness. I can easily say this is the best "Vaporwave" game so far, as it captures the absurdity, irony and overall impressions Vaporwave (and the internet) makes. The developers were successful in capturing the take on indulgence, consumerism, and omen vaporwave generally radiates, while also providing the player nostalgic references to old internet (AOL chat design, old graphics, etc.) The characters are fun and enjoyable, there is an actual plot to this game, keep in mind. It is not a complete senseless wonderlandish exploration.

The only nit-picking I have for this game is, well, a spoiler: the game does get darker and more ominous as you progress-- I would have preferred it to not be that way. I was hoping for more vaporwave maps with another theme like a jungle, for example, instead of the ending it gave us, so hopefully the sequel will make up for what it lacked. There are a few bugs and glitches (There is a major bug other people have run into that forces them to reset the game, but I never personally encountered it.)

With that said, I still highly recommend this game. It's full of nonsense, truth, colors, outrageous and pompous design choices, and internet references that'll make you chuckle. I find myself coming back to a particular place called Aquanet just to reminisce in its design.
