I've been playing very actively for about 35 hours and already have EVERY prestige upgrade and all but the most rare achievements. It's a fun game for a day or two, but not much longer then that. I still have sugar lumps to get, but not sure how motivated I am to play anymore since the game is pretty much complete.

The grind is this game is crazy. Even if you're pay to play, expect to put dozens of hours into it before you have any good towers, if you're free to play, good luck. Once you put in the heavy time and grind it out, It's fun. So it's really up to you if it's worth it or not.
