Works and there is still a good amount of contents, this is definetly not a 'fraud' game.
Lacks in polish and performance, but this can be accepted being in EA, and the updates comes pretty regularly.
I would recommend it, but maybe try it and see if you want to support the developing.
In the end, could be a good purchase, for a good price.
