This is quite possibly one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. Hands down, get this game.

This game is fantastic! It's a nice, light user interface with beautiful, inspired artwork and an engrossing story. Easily my favorite tactical RPG since the original Final Fantasy Tactics. If you're wish washing on whether this is for you or not... IT IS FOR YOU! Buy it, enjoy it. :)

So far, this is my least favorite game in the Splinter Cell series. The game puts more of an emphasis on movie style action than on the stealth game on which it was based, and worse still is the fact that this game doesn't do it nearly as well as Conviction did. Instead, this game is trying to a hybrid of earlier games with the cinematic style of conviction, and it fails to live up to either expectation.

Other things that are bothersome include the voice acting (none of the original voice actors apparently returned for this entry) and the changing of characters. Somehow, Sam Fischer is becoming younger all the time. When I first started playing, I didn't even realize that we were playing as Sam and friends, until they beat you over the head with his name a few times. Using a mouse and keyboard to play this feels like a no-no. Blacklist was definitely created with consoles in mind, so you'd want to pick up a PC-controller in order to really play this.

Overall, I'm unhappy with this game. It's not unplayable, but it lives far from my expectations set by previous installments in the series. I must even commend Double Agent for its ability to be a better game than this one, and it was previously the worst in the series. This one has fitted its way into that lowest slot now, leaving me waxing nostalgic about the previous adventures of Stealthy Sam instead of this Keifer Sutherland in 24 wannabe.

Do not recommend.

It's fun, if you're into strategy games. It is a dynasty simulator, not a conquest game like the total war series. You're trying for a high score to see how your dynasty compares to those in history. It also has several links to Wikipedia for many individuals in each time period, so you can learn about many of the people portrayed in this game.
