A game that sparks your imagination. Oh, the theme, landscapes, ship physics, sound effects. Sadly, that fantasy does not live beyond the first hours, since there is no content and long-term cycles that support it. I hope Xbox could find their right step in this late phase of current console generation.

They're asking $60 for this game. If it was free to play I'd give it a 6 or 7. As a $60 I give it 4/10

-This is a pirate fantasy roleplaying game where you can't create your own pirate (you choose from randomly generated appearances) and you can't name your pirate.

-There is basically one type of enemy in the game: Skeletons (I'm not counting rattlesnakes since they have no real combat or counter play to them. they just sit there and poison you if you step on them)

-There are no new types of weapons or equipment to get or use. There are no upgrades. There are no levels. There are no skills or talents. There's nothing to acquire other than new skins for the things you start with.

-There are two types of boats in the game. Big boat and little boat. You don't earn or acquire either, you just start with whichever you choose in the menu. If it sinks it doesn't matter. It just respawns. If you die it doesn't matter. You just respawn and can be teleported back.

Your forced to play with other people. So of course as soon as I jump into any game, within 30 seconds I'm sent to the brig and can't play, over and over and over and over and over again. Thank you toxic gaming community

Pros:

- Art style
- Team Gameplay regarding ship controls and ship combat.

Sea Of Thieves feels like Rare came in with a water physic tech demo and then added a simple item fetch quest system and called this a complete game. Calling this a Rare title feels horrible as I love classic Rare.. anything from Kameo and back to DK Country.

Simply put this game has a great sailing system, bare bones mechanics both in fighting, PVE, PVP, and customization. Take a look at the announce trailer 2 yrs ago and tell me if you see anything new or changed.. and should I even say things were removed such as ability to open a chest.

Their is not progression you only have reputation and becoming a "pirate legend" to look forward to. I feel as the game should have been more mmo-esque. What I would have liked to see is a skill tree, not that would make things unfair but i their has to be some kind of objective. Voyage's get old fast and in the beggining they are a real joy, but quickly feel like a choir with voyage's repeating themselves constantly and to my experience, there are almost no other pirates at sea and it just feels like a PvE game only and not a hybrid ( PvP and PvE ).
The game's asking price is unacceptable regarding the fact that you get so little descent content at launch, the game feels like it's in beta and I do not, at all reccomened buying it for 60 dollars, wait for the price to go down to maybe 15-25 dollars or just get it free for 14 days through xbox game pass!

I was really, really excited for the release of Sea Of Thieves.
Rare Ltd. the studio devoloping it was a legendary and I expected so much out of them. But then after playing the games for several days after launch, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
The idea and concept is amazing, drift on the wide seven seas as you fight other pirates and collect the booty.
But this game is not that. This game is not at all what was promised. The game looks beautiful and you really come to admire the cartoonish yet amazing artstyle. Furthermore the music in the game is amazing and you'll be dancing to the tunes as you set out on your pirate adventures. But the flaws are there.

The game is so boring, and the graphics are really bad even if u play on a xbox one X, so many bugs and a giant sea with nothing to do.

Solo is pretty bad experience all around. With a crew this game is a blast for about 5-6 hours then even the hardest content feels super repetitive. Other then the "skins" which are mostly just recolors of other items, there is 0 progression in the game. It feels like it should be free to play with the option to maybe buy some skins. They may have ended up making more money going that route as well. After the first update I have to further lower my score. A complete re-download of the game for 3-4 bug fixes is pathetic and a dark sign of things to come.
