Early Access Review
This is my first game I've ever reviewed and it's for a good reason. I've been playing survival games a whole lot throughout my life. It's one of my most favorite genres out there. I've gone through Stranded Deep, Rust, Don't Starve, Raft and everything in between. I could go on and on about why I like these particular types of games, but I'm leaving this review for one reason.

This game has promise. Is it flawless in it's early access state? Well, no. That's obvious, but if these developers know what to do with this game, it could be big. How big determines how much they want think outside of the box. The basic premise is great. Stranded on an island, build a base, harvest resources, the same old same old, but that's where any early access games aims for.

First, the pros:
-Resource gathering not only above water, but below is really refreshing.
-Random AI attacks can break up the mundanity of building, collect, building, collect, building, collect.
-Factions in the game, although barebonesy at the moment, are a great platform for future ideas the developers might have with it.
-Researching items feels fulfilling when you finally unlock the broken gun you found at the bottom of the ocean because you were searching for that one resource for the past 5 islands.
-Firefights are as good as you would expect from a early access game.
-Naked women neon lights you can find at the bottom of the ocean in a collapsed building. 'Nuff said.

And, of course, the cons:
-Crashes. I've only been playing for 14 hours and got 3 of them.
-The building aspect leaves MUCH to be desired. Half the of the time your crafting benches clip through the walls and other items equally.
-Melee combat is unrefined and the enemy can get some easy cheap shots on you.
-When you die, you don't lose all your clothing/items. You spawn with all your hotbar items and clothes you died with. Not sure if this is a full con, but my Rust experience made me so confused when I found that out.
-Sharks. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sharks.

In conclusion, I know I could've gone into more, but hopefully this will be good enough for you to determine if your 20 bucks will be well spent. I'm having a great time so far. Sure, I'll probably hit the wall where I have everything researched and I have all the resources I could possibly want, but for the time being, this was definitely worth my money. Also, I would feel like a ♥♥♥♥ if I didn't mention, I only played this on single player. So, to anyone courageous enough to do multiplayer, I don't have any information for you. Just...good luck.
