Could have been a good game, but it was abandoned.

This game has had it's ups and downs. Launch was rough, then the game got better, then CA messed up with DLC. However, they really listened to the community recently and put a lot of work into hot fixes people wanted and into making the newest DLC well worth its price tag. So many devs nowadays just double down on pumping out overpriced DLCs, but CA doubled down on making theirs worth the price.

I hope they continue this way going forward because many people will stand behind and support them if they do.

Also yes, the game is great. I love the campaign and all the different factions and units even though I suck at battles. Warhammer fan or not, this game is an awesome fantasy battler.

I've enjoyed what little I've played of the game. The translations aren't as bad as many others suggest. You can quickly figure out what impacts what, and there is a guide built in the game that you can reference for things. That being said, the translations aren't always perfect.

Unfortunately, I received this game for free at a time when many other great games were coming out that drew my attention (FF7 Rebirth for example). However, I do intend to play this game more in the future to see how harder runs feel with more upgrades on characters.

The game has a lot of systems for upgrading. They are mostly stat upgrades which I don't mind, but it would be nice if there were some that did more than stats. The companion is also neat.

Unfortunately though, everything feels insignificant and pointless. The whole game is completely forgettable. You could play for an hour straight and barely remember playing at all. You get skills and passives and upgrade them during your runs, but all runs feel the same because they all feel like nothing. It's like playing a fighting game but every hit has 0 impact. Sure, it still damages the enemy, but there's no reaction, no sense of actually hitting them. This makes the game very boring.

Worse yet, on only the 3rd stage of the 2nd area, I began having major frame rate issues. I've played tons of these types of games and never had problems. So to have them with this game without that much even going on is pitiful.

It's sad because I think this game does have some neat mechanics like the companion and upgrade system. However, it's just not worth it. Maybe co-op is better, but I highly doubt it.

Rock... and also... Stone!

Loving this game so far. The "mining" aspect introduced in this survivor-like is a nice twist on the genre. I think this game has a great foundation and a good amount of content already. I can't wait for more to be added.

I do agree with some others that the meta-progression could be more exciting and involved. This game just launched in EA though, so there's a good chance meta-progression will grow in time.

Sadly I have to vote this as negative. This game has an odd and unpleasant "balance" for a bullet heaven/survivor like. Rather than you trying to mostly avoid getting hit while quickly killing enemies on the screen, instead there are hundreds of enemies on the screen right from the start. You are also an absolute unit of a tank. Then, there are constant health and shield drops. This all means that you run around not caring how many enemies you run into while also not being able to kill them fast enough to not always be swarmed regardless. I can't even tell what my weapons are doing because enemies are constantly on top of me.

It all feels pointless. Not to mention I don't even focus on what is happening, I just stare at drops (hp, shield, lvl ups, speed boost) and constantly run to collect them. There is 0 skill or strategy here. It's sadly just a gloried game of run and collect the drops.

I really hope the devs do a 180 on the game balance and bring it in-line with normal bullet heavens where you don't get surrounded until late game if you didn't build properly. Until then, this game is a total snooze.

I do love the art style and theme of the game (I enjoyed their other title Despot's Game so no surprise here). I also enjoy the deck building and in-game level up system with the cards as well as the new passive system.

Quite a fun survivor like. Gets better as it goes as you unlock and upgrade more things. Its simple and straight forward, but it does what it does well. My only complaint would be that the upgrade UI is a bit rough to look at. Otherwise I definitely recommend this game.

An absolute amazing hidden gem. I had my eye on this game for awhile and finally picked it up. I honestly didn't expect much and this game has blown me away. The combat is great and challenging. Classes are varied, interesting, and can create some powerful combos. Exploration is phenomenal. All around this game is one of the greatest of its genre. This has become one of my favorite rpgs ever.

Buy it on a sale.

A year after release and it still feels half empty. " engage in diplomacy, craft, trade and conquer new lands in a vast medieval sandbox" What diplomacy? Trading options are limited unless u manually do it yourself. Workshops are bare bones and still say "level 1" without any other levels existing. "Sandbox".... hardly. Sure, the combat is just as fun as ever. However, outside of combat, the game feels so lacking. Note that most of my time was played during EA when I actually thought they'd finish this game.

If you enjoy the survivor like/reverse bullet hell/bullet heaven/whatever you wanna call these games, then you will enjoy this game. It is very EA, but still has enough content for 5-10 hours of good play if not more. I also love the character building/evac concept the game introduces. I would love to see this taken even further and make the risk/reward greater or provide an option to do so.

I disagree with the comments regarding progression and unlocks. You can unlock things very quickly if you want to. I do however agree with the comments regarding item/weapon lockouts. It honestly doesn't make any sense at the moment to be locked out of other grenades or drones after taking 1 version of them. I could see the lockout system being more effective if it also locked out skills that were no longer relevant. IE taking molotov locks out toxic and shock grenade and also locks out shock and toxic bonuses. Otherwise, why not allow for all of them.

The game also needs some heavy work done on optimization. I've never had any issue with framerate on any game in this genre and I've played most of them. However, I can bring this game down to 1 FPS fairly easily.

Overall the game is fun and could easily be another great survivor like with some improvements and content.
