On the one hand, Disc Creatures is a cute tribute to the monster-collecting games of our childhoods. However, it is also a lovingly-made original story and system which differs enough from its sources of inspiration to be fun beyond simply scratching that nostalgia itch. It has a compelling story which questions and introduces its own takes on the weird tropes of the genre. Honestly one of the most surprising and fun games I've played this year.

The only game which will allow me to sleep with my best friend's wives for 200 years before being discovered and castrated. 10/10.
