Got it on sale because it looked like a simpler version of Rust. Was pleasantly surprised. Only takes a few hours to understand how things work, and once you start building and testing items, it all just clicks. Made some cool friends along the way.
Also, insuring your items like in Tarkov is one of the best features. Crafted a new rifle? Insure it so it doesn't drop on your next death!

BEST MOMENT

I perfectly executed a Sherlock Holmes style deduction that took a ballsy Node 1 hack to a near flawless win. I was an Agent of 5 players with 2 hackers among us. Node 1 starts, and it's me and Tye on the left. He proposes us to go in and he foolishly hacks it. One perp located. My proposal begins, and I pick the 2 players furthest from me. We go on and secure the Node; they're clear for now.

Next up is the only person who hasn't gone in yet, Gordon. I convince him to go in with me, but I refuse his proposal to bait out his acceptance vote and see where it takes us. Didn't even need that, because he hacked the Node for me. After that, it was just a matter of presenting my two previously cleared companions with my findings in a calm and collected manner.

Tye made a ballsy first hack and outted himself. Because Node 2 was clean, the two furthest from me could trust me for the moment, and since I told them that they both knew they were clean, it really only left one other person up for suspicion: Gordon. Because he accepted the proposal which I refused, and went on to hack a Node that I attempted to secure, Gordon was obviously caught redhanded.

The Hackers tried to quickly put blame on the others, but because I presented the Agents with facts and gained their trust by proving I knew they were innocent, I swayed the last two rounds to put Agents in the missions and win the game.

They were astounded at how brilliantly I cracked the case.

Detective Doug always gets his man.

WARNING: don't let anyone know you're new, they will just suspect you of being a Hacker.

I never write reviews, but good god is this game good.

I've only played three hours of it but I get that addicting rush that I used to get playing Mafia with my friends and a deck of cards. Nothing beats outsmarting your opponents with nothing but wit, skill, good talking skills and cold hard facts.

The game itself is quite easy to understand. After about 3 games I was comfortable enough to get serious about my deductive reasoning and deception. You really wise up quick in this nasty world of MINDNIGHT. Learning to lie and manipulate people a la Game of Thrones is really the only way to survive out here.

There really isn't a whole lot to review. The game has a nice art style and stellar music. For such a simple game, the human mind and all of its inherent randomness give it so much depth. You'll never ever 100% trust someone if you're an Agent, and you can only trust a fellow Hacker so much.

As a general tip, from my Mafia days I would always play the bad guys like a normal player, and part of that is throwing your friend(s) under the bus at just the right time to gain the trust of the others who will eventually learn that confiding in you is a bad idea.

Remember: the win is more important than the survival of the group. Don't be afraid to sell your allies out.

My only real gripe is people were pretty cruel in my first two games because I said I was new. Don't let anyone know you're new, it's a ploy veteran players use (THE GAME HIDES YOUR IDENTITY TIL THE END).

The community is a little judgemental and paranoid, but that sort of comes with the type of game that's being presented.

I'd give it 9/10
Would sell out partners again.

At first I wasn't too interested in playing this. The beginning moved slow and was a bit predictable: puzzle/adventure with a unique control scheme.

But then I really gave it a try. I spent a solid 2 hours playing this straight and it was WAY different from what I expected. The gameplay remains the same throughout, offering new ways to use the two brothers together. The story, however, takes a mighty big turn in a very good way. I don't want to spoil it, but seriously give this game a try. It is absolutely worth the ~3 hour playthrough. Better story telling than a lot of AAA games.
