Somehow the music is even better in this sequel! Attack patterns and enemy waves got more intense to make up for the blocks no longer hurting you, so it feels more frenzied and only a bit less tactical.

Now this is my jam! The monsters' behavior is so cleverly designed, with plenty of dynamic effects while remaining simple enough to understand and reason about. And so many of the puzzles are beautiful, razor-sharp.

Inventive mechanics & delightful soundtrack. Balanced so that it only takes modest skill to reach a proper ending, but with plenty of challenges to pursue. My main complaint is the somewhat abrasive sound effects, but I got used to them.

A fast paced tour of fun mechanics, not diving too deep (ironically?) but remaining quite clever.

Super solid shooting game overall, I had a great time with it. Nothing too innovative but the console-oriented design is a nice break from arcade traditionalism. Play being stage by stage rather than continuous lets the challenges be tougher without adding frustration, and customizing loadouts per stage is a fun extra layer of strategy.

It's true, they were good mazes.

I suspect most players who don't bounce off early will become fixated. It's just that kind of game.

There are enough reviews telling you about how abrasive and mysterious this game is so I would just like to add that it has a tremendous heart.

I loved what I played of this so much I had to uninstall it for a while so I don't burn out on it in early access. (...I'll almost certainly return before too long tho.) Love the quick pace as a pick-up bullet hell break, love all the inventive boss designs, love the space it gives you to choose your own goals and level of challenge, love the way it layers on mechanics as you play and unlock more things, love the character surprises and sweet emo vibe. This is cozy gaming to me.
