Look at the achievements - almost a third of players have finished the game (main playthrough anyway). That should tell enough whether it's worth it for a beat em up enjoyer.

Early Access Review
It seems like some sort of a student project, but a decent one at that. I am a big fan of on rail shooters and this has a good base to build on. What it needs is better balance.
Your weapons are really slow, often there are TONS of enemies and their projectiles all over the screen. I would suggest the following changes:
  • Make the player weapon way faster with less damage. Then, at least, you can aim a little more loosely and still get hits.
  • Adjust the fog effect so it disappears a little faster so closer enemies have better contrast. Actually better color contrast may help in general - stronger, darker or more saturated colors for the destructible elements.
  • Have to say, the music feels waaay too serious for such an arcadey action title.
  • Also, it may be a decent idea to look into having less ground enemies, but make them stronger.
  • Most special effects could use some work.
  • Sound effects could also be improved with more beefy weapon and explosion sounds (perhaps pick slightly different sounds randomly?).
Also, developers, have a look at Novastorm PC play trough on Youtube ;)

Guess I can join the others saying that it is what it is for the price - ok.
But with a little extra work:
  • Adding a little bit of auto aim when using a controller.
  • Making the guns shoot A LOT faster - make the damage lower but make them shoot faster so it looks more exciting.
  • Adding more particles and such for impacts and deaths of the enemies.
  • Improving the sound effects.
  • Adding some more variety to the backgrounds in general.
Doing that would greatly improve the feel of the game.

Unexpected surprise. I basically add almost any game that looks more or less like a twin stick shooter to my wishlist. But upon playing this, it turned out to be quite a different beast. Action-adventure is a super correct description for this game.
The action part is really solid. All the weapons have a great feel to them - something that too many games do not accomplish. And later you can upgrade the weapons with alternate modes that expand the fairly varied arsenal you have even further. The game is challenging, but in a good way (except the final boss battle, I hope that can get some fixes). The adventure part is also present with some really goofy dialogues (didn't mind the silly swearing at all) and a good amount of exploration. Overall well worth a try.

No idea what the positive reviews are all about, but this game is so incredibly boring. Handling feels like you are on rails, powerups are meh, sound and music are so grey I cannot remember if the game even had music on stages. Don't waste your time and money. There are other, way better, arcade racing games out there.

A little on the wall with this one - it is easy to see that the developers put some time into it - it actually has properly made pixel graphics (none of those rotated pixels here), there are two modes to play, the music is ok and there are many characters to choose from. But those characters somewhat shoot the game in its foot. A decision was made to give each character their main type of a weapon which then gets powered up during gameplay. The problem here is that there seem to be around two decent types of weapons and the rest are more annoying than enjoyable. Now if this was part of the gameplay, like so many of these types of games do - pick it up or not, deal with the consequences - then it would actually add to the game. But here it basically greatly limits the variety and you become tired and bored quickly. It's not terrible, but there are SO MANY better alternatives out there that it is hard to recommend.

Funny for a little bit, but in general it is just a pointless waste of time and resources. Especially with the achievements that make the users leave it on for who knows how long (and despite the primitive graphics it makes the graphics card really work). You are probably better off mining bitcoins or something.

Not sure what the mostly positive reviewers are smoking, but...
I'm old enough to remember playing the original Arkanoid and am quite sure that it had way better ball physics than this. So despite some cute pixel art and relaxing music the gameplay is mostly a mess. Your character is almost the same size as the ball. You have the swipe attack that mostly sends the ball at an angle relative to your character. But then the ball can bounce randomly from floating enemies or walls every once in a while. In addition to that Arkanoid, for example, understood how this should work - about a third of the screen for the blocks, two thirds for the ball movement. Here it is the opposite and with a horizontal playing field. Quite often it is absolutely impossible to catch the randomly bouncing ball in time.
So in the end it is an experience that is more annoying than enjoyable. I got the game from a bundle for the equivalent price of some chocolate bar and would still regret it if the cards didn't cover the cost.

Well, first the positives, the music in this game is awesome. Now for the less positive:
1) The game basically works like a twin stick shooter, BUT you have to use the triggers with the right stick to actually attack. I guess their thought process was that one trigger does the regular attacks and the other does special ones. WHY NOT just make the right stick do the regular attacks and holding the left trigger does specials? Thank me later.
2) Given how it looks and behaves the game must be made with one of those game making tools that probably use HTML5. And while, when used properly, such engines can carry tens of thousands of objects just fine, this is not the case. The moment you enter a more crowded area it lags on hardware that can do most latest games with ease.
If the devs can fix these issues the game can be a decent little time waster given the relatively low price. But for now... Probably not worth your time.

More of a relaxing experience than a game. It certainly is beautiful to look at and has a lot of charm. Your little postman is really well animated and there are several unique animations/reactions in places from time to time (all the little birds make different sounds when you click them). I enjoyed how the story suddenly made sense in the end as well.
There are about 3 hours of real game here if you aren't in a hurry or following some walkthrough. I got the game from a bundle and, without knowing what it is like, probably would have never bought it. But the experience is definitely worth it, even at full/slightly discounted price. That is, if you are able to enjoy something beautiful and relaxing without feeling the need to skip things to get some action.
