Just bought this game for myself after playing someone else's copy for awhile. Combat is far more intuitive than in Oblivion. Shield bash for example is a lot easier to accidentally do, and then u know how to do it. I didn't know how I was shield bashing in Oblivion when I did it. Lock picking is a lot harder in Skyrim than it was in Oblivion because it's a lot more guess work than skill. Acquiring money in Skyrim is a lot easier, and houses are much cheaper. You got a longer ranged fire spell you get early in Oblivion. Haven't found someone who sells spells yet in Skyrim, but haven't looked very hard. Your fame among citizens in Skyrim seems to grow slower, which makes the journey more epic. The child models are rubbish in Skyrim. I do not like that adding mods removes the ability to earn achievements because there are a lot of mods that don't change anything other than physical appearances, but I'm a sucker for achievements so I have to play vanilla. Training stats seems a lot harder in Skyrim, probably because I haven't looked up speed runner's techniques to cheat yet. Hope I can enjoy this for a while. The ramp up of combat quality each Elder Scrolls makes me realize I am going to have to try a franchise with even more sophisticated combat after this.

This is a fantastic game and right after playing Morrowind for a bit I find this is a lot easier to play.
This works better than Morrowind and is less buggy.
Melee combat is more fluid.
Fireball is given to you at a very early level so you can kite things until ur magic runs out.
The Shimmering Isles of Sheogorath is the first quest recommended to you in the game. I got to it after a while and the quest line is amazing.
Your progression matters in this game and people give you more respect as your rank raises. It feels like everything you do is relevant because someone will remember you did it for better or worse.

Rocmmendation: If you want to wear heavy armor, it's recommended to start with a lot of strenght, or you'll be doing a lot of inventory management, but even with light armor you'll probably still be dropping a lot of things for other things as you progress.

Perfect factory game. Get your turrets built and your golden. Drones will free you from belts, so don't worry too much about the mess you make. Shifting to solar quickly will reduce issues with biters.

Ok. So this is the same old RO, but with the recent updates they have added some new continents. Basically anything from chapter 14.0 and forward is quite complicated. I think the max level is like 175 or something?

I am playing as a cat summoner. They can be dps, magic or whatever else. I'm playing magic. I have the ability to swing a leaf and it hits the enemy with sort of an arrow with no ammo and no mana consumption. I have the ability to snare an enemey in place at level 1 it was like 5 seconds, and at level 5 its I think 15 seconds or so, which is usually long enough to kill Orc Warriors and the such so at level 50 here I have been leveling at orc village awhile.

The first few quests that introduce the Vigilante Group really disappears once you hit Izlude. I am not sure if I was supposed to take another boat to a new world, but i'm back in old RO. some of the mobs on the maps have been moved around so I have trouble finding where things spawn now. The Path finding system is supposed to take you to the location your target is, but it sometimes tries to get you to take shortcuts you don't have unlocked or something. i'm not sure... its always trying to direct me into the Eden Group to talk to the Kafra, but i can never find any Kafra employees willing to teleport me inside... I may just be looking in the wrong places.

The class I am playing is fun, and the monsters I was fighting when I started like eggrings, and basalisks were dropping very good food items and gear, and now I have gotten diddily squat in vanilla zone. I am trying to get a few eden group quests done and then maybe I can find my way back to the new zones, or really the zone I was in was justttt an intro zone to get you on your feet in which case it wasn't very clear as it indicated I was joining a big long story line that would be taking me to a lot of cool seemingly new places. wampwamp. I guess I just have to figure it out.

Some Pros:
1. Its a pretty game.
2. Very enjoyable and engaging gameplay.
3. Immersive environment.
4. The building is well done

Some Issues I have.
1. I wish I could swing my axe where i'm looking or tilt my arms up/down or something to hit things above my head instead of having to jump/swing to hit them. Also some of the mobs are shorter than a spear swing, so you have to hit them on a hill, or use a different weapon, which might be the devs plan..... iuno...

2. I thought the multiplayer was going to allow me to play with people I don't know through the community tab but all of the servers are player hosted and password locked. If there were public, open official servers I'd like that.

3. I don't know if i'm an idiot but I haven't figured out how to "destroy" something I've built other than just smashing it apart. This causes a lot of collateral and I can't reach things well. This ties into #1. I need to be able to use a demolition hammer on specific spots or let me aim better.

It's everything and more than what I've been waiting for. This is the best. The game feels the same as back in the day. Playing on mouse and keyboard was a little odd at first and I kept looking for my X-BOX controller but I fortunately powered through the awkwardness and I feel very able now. The story mode seems perfect as well. I have recommended this game to my coworkers several times. The only sad part is the fact this was out on console so long ago there is no more hype and my coworkers are like "...yeah. we've been playing. "
A complaint I have is there are a lot of bots in Griffball walking in straight lines auto attacking. They walk to your spawn point and auto spam so you get spawn killed pretty savagely.

I recommend this game to everyone, because my main issue is the Userbase needs to increase.

I just want to say that I've been watching this game for quite a long time. Years before the Oort to Boundless conversion. Once it finally came out, i was severely disappointed at the price point for the longest time, but I have a job now, and could buy it if i wanted. The problem is the population of players. I think this game came and went over people's radars years ago and it didn't buzz again to refuel the hype train until today. (I haven't seen a free play time Before, but id assume it has been done before) I watched a video on Youtube just a few minutes ago to get more details about content I wasn't able to explore in my time period and I realized this game had fully released already? When!? Why didn't I hear the hype?

I have played this game 7 hours during a free weekend. While playing I got the sensation it was a Minecraft mod a few times, but there are also some features that were too different from others that made me really appreciate what this game has to offer. The stats and skills have a nice basic MMO feel to them, and the grapple hook is something I haven't ever played with in another game.

I met one player during my play time. His portal was attached to a large guild base, which is how i found him. Another player approached me momentarily while I was at my base soon after that, but he died and didn't come back and never said anything.

The menus were very difficult for me to navigate for the first hour or so. Clicking character, and then skillls on the top bar to add points seemed more difficult than it should. Putting an item from a crafting table into your hand was something I couldn't figure out at all. I had to go back into my bag (after mistakenly clicking E twice and going back into the crafting table inventory for a second time) to take the item I had just crafted and put it in my hand in order to place that new item on teh ground.

The inventory wheels are very cool, but the fact they don't move independently with E or Q + Scroll or something like that kinda annoyed me for ahwile. While mining if you have to switch to a shovel, you have to have a torch on two slots on one hand or you wont see what ur doing cus ur hammer and torch are position one, but your shovel is in position two with some other thing.

I am also pretty annoyed at the way they renew land. Apparently a land claim decays after your beacon runs out of fuel. That means you HAVE to come back online to refuel it. That's a silly chore and a turn off if you don't want to play for awhile. If a piece of land that is unclaimed goes untouched, it will regenerate itself. Does that mean structures will crumble and grass fields and woods will take over again? I saw a LOT of holes in the ground. Maybe it was by design...

All this being said, I have really been sitting here for awhile trying to decide if this game is worth buying now that i've dipped my toes into it, and I am really disappointed to say that I don't think I really want to pay to play more of it unless it were to ramp up advertisement to bring a larger Userbase in so I could play with someone because even my girlfriend said she wouldn't play it more unless things changed about it. The fact the game has been in development for over 4 years makes me think the overall userbase wont go up much after this first few months of it's release. :(

Pros:
1. Firing cannons at other boats
2. Smashing boats into each-other and sword fighting
3. Able to be lazy sometimes. Just pump and spot while u watch YouTube.
4. The tutorial is very helpful.

Cons:
1. You can Fire a cannon, fix a hole, pump water out of the boat or spot the enemy ship. That's it.
2. The teams stack quickly and it clears the servers. It's pretty attractive to join a team with someone who kicked your ass in the previous game, but then everyone is waiting to join one person's team.
3. You can commonly get a bad captain who drives you directly into death and doesn't tell you who to fire at and when.

I did not play the game. That said, the game does not load past the Nexon logo on startup of the game.
Steps taken to troubleshoot:
Verified game files.
Reinstalled.
Updated OS.
Updated graphics card drivers.
Closed Malwarebytes.
Uninstalled Malwarebytes.
Added exceptions to ESET Antivirus.
Disabled protection with ESET.
Turned off public / private OS firewall.
Gave the games exe in game's directory Administrative rights when it launches (can't run it without the Nexon Launcher) and tried Windows 8 compatability.
Force the game to run in 600x420.
Force the game to run in windowed mode.

I read some threads that said to delete the movie folder in the game directory. I tried this. It allows me to create a character but once I create it, it just gives me black screen. I put the Movie folder back and it gives me the original issue. I then tried installing Nexon launcher and the issue persists.

Did I miss anything? Is this hardware related or is the game broken?

This game was fantastic a few years ago. The userbase has shrunk to a size that makes the game impossible to play. I have launched it twice recently to try to get into a game. The automatic matchmaking to find just a normal brawl was taking me 15+ minutes before I gave up each time. I am uninstalling the game.
