If you're a fan of the souls-like games, this is basically a must-buy. FromSoftware has clearly learned from their previous releases, bringing some of the best aspects of the previous games into Elden Ring.

The difficulty is fairly high, arguably the highest yet from what I've seen so far, but with some of the new features added it's also far more accessible for new players. There's a multitude of summons you can rely on to make boss fights a bit easier, and summoning random players or your own friends is also a good alternative if you're stuck.
I could write a lot more that has already been said in many other reviews, but I think a good takeaway is that if you like Dark Souls style games then this game is for you.

As many others have also touched on, there is a non-insignificant number of people having massive performance issues. I'm hoping that FromSoftware will be addressing this with some upcoming patches, and I'd be surprised if they don't do it relatively soon.

For the sake of anyone looking to compare their own experience to mine, I have seen no major issues affecting gameplay, with just some occasional frame-drops that seem to happen in a few particular areas which bring my fps down to ~30-45 for a few moments before it stabilizes. It's mostly been a stable 60fps @ 1440p.
I have an i7-9700K with a 3070, but I've seen others with better specs complaining of worse so YMMV.

The start of the game can be a bit challenging for new players, and progression is pretty slow until you've put a decent chunk of time into the game. Lag is pretty common and can ruin games. Players with a lot of time invested can be pretty toxic.
Even with these problems, it's still a fun game. The learning curve is steep, but once you've gotten the hang of it it's a lot of fun.
Playing with friends highly recommended, especially for newer people.

Awesome game, very challenging and the combat is really good too. Tons of fun to invade people, and get invaded too.

Left4Dead + Black Ops Zombies make for an awesome game!
