A dark and twisted game, That ended up being one of the most interesting expeirences I've ever played through. This game takes the classic 2-d rpg genre and subverts it into a brilliant nightmare of a game. One of the best examples of how game mechanics can add an incredible amount of depth to the story, that's been done. This game punishes you for falling for it's unfair tricks, that the stressfulness and frustration of the game make the story even more grim. however, it makes sure to pick your spirits up with some enjoyably depraved comedy, right before it goes back to kicking you in the balls. I respect the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game. A must play for any masochist.

Obviously the part of the game that is going to be talked about the most is the Nemesis system. It's not that the free-running and combat are bad. In fact they are quite good. So good that they are the strongest pillars that the rest of the game stands gloriously upon. There isnt need to talk about them because they are excellent examples of what free-running and combat should be. The Nemesis system however, is new and interesting, and I'm sure is where most critics are going to focus their attention. Watching the Orc society grow and change has been the best part of the game. For example one orc captain that gave me particular trouble at the start game grew in rank after defeating me. I kept running into him at every turn. we'd fight, and I would run off before he was able to kill me again. I hunted down other captains to learn his weaknesses. Finally, after a lot of preperation and a bit of dumb luck I was able to down him. I went on my way killing more orcs. After some time I rounded a corner and he was standing there ready to fight. It was the same guy, same name and title. same strengths and weaknesses. The only difference was instead of his normal helmet he had a large chunk of metal grafted to his face as though to close up some greavous wound. It legitemately startled me. I Thought he was dead but there he was on the other side of the map than his normal stomping ground. I left him for dead, but he got better and sought revenge. just as I had done to him. It was an incredibly cool experience and that Just one of the ones I've had.

This is one of those Why hasnt this been done before? games. Everyone who has ever played a multiscreened first person shooter with their friends knows about screen cheating. We've all blamed our friends for doing it, while simultaneously snuck a quick peek at their screens to gain an advantage. It's part of the experience. The guys at Samurai Punk have taken that simple Idea, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ran with it. In this game one is forced to screen cheat. All the characters are invisible, so the only way to findout where someone is, is to look at their screen. and It's hard work. There is a lot of information you have to keep track of in a match. But, there are so much going on to help you. First off the level design is brilliant. Each of the levels, for now there are only three, and laid out and colored to let you know roughly where someone is just by quickly glancing at their screen. A quick peripheral look will tell you everything you need to know. Each shot you make also reveals your location with various particle effects. If someone tries to shoot at you, you will know where the shot came from. It's simple and intuitive. you are outfitted with a number of various weapons to actually do the killing, and these weapons are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic. There is a simple shotgun, but incredible effective. There are weirder things with the Giant bouncy ball launcher, and the "Chargey Horse." and some more standard stuff like a melee weapon (although this happens to be a giant candle stick), a rifle, and a grenade launcher. They are all Beautifuly designed and no one weapon feels more useful than the others. they each have their pros and cons and all have their idle situations. The trick is that you only get one per life, so choose wisely. There are a few bugs that need fixing, while we were playing there was an awful lot of simultaneous kills, and a few other random glitches. Nothing game breaking though. You guys, this game is incredibly fun. It reminds me of my time playing old fps games like Golden Eye, or Perfect Dark with a group of friends. but with such a new and refreshing take on the genre. Plus, It's an absolute delight to look at.
