Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 improves upon nearly every aspect of the first game. Movement is now enhanced by a double jump, and also a roll feature that can be started mid-air. There are new animations for melee, and even a couple of melee weapons. Aiming is 360, and I find the mouse and keyboard to be much more responsive than a controller. While not incredibly long, I liked the game mechanics enough to bring me back for subsequent playthroughs. For others, I think you'll find the co-op option to add replayability, though I haven't tested this feature, myself.

The first game was heavier on zombie action, with a scattering of mob fights sprinkled throughout. This game more evenly balances the zombie to human enemies, so there will be plenty of trading lead from behind cover, or on the move. If you have even a casual interest in side scrolling shooters, I think this game is a great buy. As with any review, this is merely my opinion, so I advise anyone reading this to check out gameplay videos before making a purchase.
