Early Access Review
Dead Age 2 - the successor of the original Dead Age - is a tactical turn-based game with rpg rogue-like and survival elements in an open world strategic meta.

Played on i7 8700K, nVidia GTX1060, 32 GB RAN, WIN 10.

Written at the state of early access, there is still a lot of work to do and the developer needs the feedback of the commumnity.

But is the second part better than the first one? Yes! Here is why, in my humble opinion:

pros:
- world map with free roaming, random encounters, loot and quest sites
- day/night cycle - at night with higher risk, but higher chance for better loot
- base building with improvements during the game
- factions and their bases for trading, story and side quests
- party and base management with focus on skills and well thought-out use of goods/food/commodities
- challenging turn-based fights, more enemy- and skill-variety compared to DA1
- rogue-like elements and permadeath - invest skillpoints for an easier re-run
- reunion with some predecessor NPCs during the story
- developer is very close to the community and reacts quickly
- short early access phase due to the roadmap

neutral:
- difficulty probably needs little balancing in some areas
- more resolution options beyond Full HD, like 2K or even 4K

cons:
- some sounds are louder than others - adjustments needed
- framedrops in some areas - my rig can handle that - maybe others not
- Bugs. They do exist as expected for early access. And obviously they depend on different (random affected) playstyles.
Sure, its annoying everytime. But the developer takes care of them so I'm sure this is going well until release.

So far, I like the game and its ideas, not at least because of so many improvements after Dead Age 1.
Thumbs up, I can't wait for the final content!

Braveland is a casual turn-based strategy game with a very linear and low storyline. There are some similarities to Heroes Of Might & Magic concerning the combat system and even the story map remembers on Clash Of Heroes. The army management is very basic and I missed the possibility to split the troops. I did a successful walkthrough on hard difficulty on my first run. It's short and funny, I really liked it, but it's not a must have. Cheers!

How great is this? Absolutely addicting after my first impressions. If you are in oldschool turn-based rogue-likes you should give a try.

Best indie rogue-like strategy game I have played so far.
Select between 9 different cruisers (most of them have to be unlocked) and warp through 8 sectors filled with randomly generated beacons containing hostile ships to fight, random events, stores to upgrade your ship and more.
While flying through a sector the hostile rebel fleet is breathing down your neck. Your mission is to rescue the home base in the last sector before the enemy takes his place in the universe.
There is no story but this game is really great for playing in between.
Go for victory!

Welcome to the Sprawl! :-)
This is not really I was waiting for but it has charme - as long as you accept that this is more a storydriven adventure with rpg-features than an open-world-rpg.
I really like the turn-based-combats and the good story which let you dive into the world of shadowrun. Besides with steam workshop there are weekly new campaigns available made by fans.
Give it a try.
Cheers!

This game hooked me! Its a turn-based roguelike rpg in a sci-fi-fantasy setting with random levels and items and its imo better than dungeons of dredmor. You can craft items and weapons can be improved with bionic-mods. Really addictive if you like dungeoncrawler and rogue-likes, check this out!

Tetris and Tower Defense, also with a PvP battle mode, this game is brilliant!

Its like Colonization in real-time, but without different professions and without the possibility to settle in the inland. Its fun, but not a real challenge against the AI, also in the later game. I recommend the pirate dlc for a new experience having own pirate ships for hunting freighters under the flag of the outlaws.. ^^
