This game is good. Deal with it.

Some of the best Melee Combat and Gore you will ever see in a video game. Right on par with Vermintide and Darktide when it comes to that raw and visceral feel of slashing, bashing, and ripping into zombies with your weapons. The gore system is intricate and well considered, too. The story is OK at best. Good voice acting but the real meat of the game is the combat. You will just find yourself hacking and slashing and not giving a damn about the story. That's how good it is.

Which brings me to the question: Why did this game get trashed on at release?

My take as to why it might have gotten negative reviews is because the game got stuck in development hell and was a different game than what was shown. The hopes and expectations will fall short for a game thats been stuck in development hell for 9 plus years.

Matter of fact, this game plays like a game that came out back in 2013-2015. The gameplay is linear and since everything is open-world nowadays, its damn refreshing to play something simple and brainless.

This game is solid all around and a bloody good time. Get it on a sale and if the negative reception is about Epic Games Launcher, it is no longer justified now that its on steam. There are workarounds to avoid the login when you buy it on Steam. Performance was not bad at all either.

Definitely the best Doom from the old school "boomer shooter" era. The simple yet effective level design, the eerie and scary atmospheric soundtrack, the different sprites for characters and weapons, and the visual lighting give off the most goth-horror atmosphere from those doom's back then. To think that a N64 Port would kick this much ass would be far fetched; this does it in spades.

At first glance, RoboCop can be easily dismissed for a title that will nostalgia-bait it's fanbase. For a character that came out in the 80's, it still has a pretty decent following and shows to grow sales in any sort of media.

This game is not half baked or phoned in by any stretch of the imagination. It has a beautiful lighting system thanks to the Unreal Engine 5 it is using. It even has the campy 1980's dialogue and tone as seen in the movies. The sound design is fantastic as the Pistol really roars in gunfights. Not to mention, it is a solid AA FPS with surprisingly serviceable writing.
Many times, I caught myself thinking the next scene would be run of the mill but there's actual depth to the half-man, half-robot, all cop figure we all know to love. Time after time, I found myself growing increasingly impressed with features that the game has from a AA title in itself.

The game itself plays like a mixture of The Darkness when it comes to the unique approach to the maps and side quests to choose from with solid shooting to boot. I think it was a sleeper hit of 2023 for sure as other games easily over shadowed this. Unreal Engine 5, however, is not stable. DLSS caused crashes EVERY TIME I played this game on my RTX 4070 so be weary of this. Might have to turn it off if you experience crashing.

A worthy try for those who want to play a short 8-12 hour linear game and for RoboCop fans alike.

For the first time, we have a "Blasphemous-Like"

I am a little torn with this game...

I think it is very good in it's presentation that it borrows from its obvious influence in Blasphemous. A lot of this game feels like Blasphemous in everything but setting and combat. The one thing that I don't think it does right is feeling like the game is bloated.

TONS of weapons to choose from. Primary weapons, Secondary weapons, and even Spells at your disposal. The thing is it feels pointless as there are obvious weapons that are just extremely superior than others that it makes no sense to worry about the rest of the ones you have acquired. So take it to consideration to not max out a weapon too early.

Many times the game makes you feel like you "just have to beat the next boss" to feel any sense of progression. While every video game has bosses and it really is the goal, this does not string it well. It never really feels grandiose like Blasphemous did. It definitely overstays it's welcome with too many biomes and bosses, I feel. Yet again, since it is a "Bloodborne" influenced game, it also feels like it must have this amount of bosses. I think it ultimately comes down to grinding for stats that it kinda becomes a stat check for some area's of the game. Blasphemous never really had that feel. It just tested your patience with some of the bosses.

Speaking of bosses, you will fight some of the best bosses in a Metroidvania out there. All unique in their approach and strategy with some interesting phases that you REALLY have to get the timing down. 3 bosses that I think are so stupid to put in semi-late in the game that it feels like an unnecessary difficulty spike.

Conclusion

A solid Metroidvania/Soulslike that brings the Style of Blasphemous with the world of Bloodborne in a decent fun package. Worth playing if you are looking to scratch that Blasphemous itch that you will have when beating 1 or 2. Can skip if you are not a fan of Soulslike as I feel it is more Soulslike than it is a Metroidvania.

The moment I have been waiting for. Fully realized and in the material world. I love every second of it and is a testament to fighting games around that this is the quality you should strive for and nothing less. This is also the best time to get into Tekken if you have not done so already. The tutorial and simple yet engaging Special Style will walk you through the next best move to make after executing ANY string from your character of choice. I hope you don't get discouraged easily because this will test your patience and durability.

Some people say this is the hardest fighting game in terms of execution but SF6 timing has always defeated me because of the ultra precise input for execution. To each their own but this game is NOT EASY. It will be absolutely brutal to learn but boy, when it clicks, there is no other fighting game like it.

Better than MK11, worse than MKX. Still a good mortal kombat with horrible microtransactions and a phenomenal story mode. I still think SF6 is better than this but it is really fun when you get to lab your characters and synergy with kameos

Call me scrubby but having a souls-like death system in this game ruined it for me. Especially considering the later parts of the map have an abnormal amount of enemies on the screen trying to mess with you so that you do NOT get your upgrades and weapons.

This ruined the game for me so much that I uninstalled it and did not look back. Its ok if you never experience this game as WayForward is capable of much more with the Shantae series.

Picked it up 2 weeks ago on a sale and 2 years later, this game finally got to the state it should have been on day 1. Smooth performance and high octane action makes this a solid entry in the Battlefield franchise.

Fantastic sequel to what I would call a serviceable and memorable first game. I was surprised they would make a Blasphemous 2 after hearing the announcement and thought "I do not see why there is a sequel to this game."

Simply playing the first two hours, I realized that I was wrong and that a sequel improved on every aspect the original game had that was lacking. If you are into Metroidvania's, do yourself a favor and pick this up.
