An intriguing horror-fantasy story told through episodic stories which the player has to piece together from one or more frozen moments in time. The game mechanics share some traits with those of Obra Dinn, but this plays much more like an adventure/puzzle game from the 16 bit era. Just wonderful.

Love the tone, writing and general atmosphere. An ideal, bite-sized retro PnC adventure for people who don't really have the time to play those kinds of games anymore. If the devs decide to port this to mobile, they can have my money all over again.

This is a beautiful and extremely well crafted game, but it ultimately just doesn't work for me. I've tried several times to get into the story and setting, but I find that the game world is just too kooky and disjointed, alienating me instead of providing any points of reference or identification. Lucasarts games often relied on strong comedy writing to smooth things out, but here, situations are generally played for mirth and mild, inoffensive amusement. In addition, the game often forces you into a corner where being able to proceed at all hinges on a single illogical or poorly explained puzzle. You really should play the remastered Day of the Tentacle instead.

I'm not really sure I'd call this a game, but it's a fascinating experiment in storytelling nonetheless. In some ways it feels like an early '90s CD-ROM game, which I guess is apt, considering the time period it's set in. I stumbled across what I assume was supposed to be a big reveal quite early on, but I still kept going, finding it gratifying to fill out the remaining blanks.

A gem. Behind the simple interface and minimalist looks there's a cleverly told story with great atmosphere. Since each chapter only contains a handful of locations, and the object-based puzzles are lined up in a very linear fashion, it never gets all that challenging, but there's a time travel mechanic to keep things interesting, and a looming doomsday threat to make you want to see the story through to the end. Well worth the low asking price and the five or so hours it takes you to complete.
