I've seen Counter Strike grow for over a decade now. Starting in Beta 7 in the year 2000, CS was THE game to play after school with my friends. I didn't have the time to commit to becoming a pro, but the tournaments and hype in the early 2000's set a standard for FPS leagues and LANs. After a bit of a low point, and much of the CS community assuming this game would never retake its place at the top, Valve as re-energized the community with CSGO.
They are doing all the right things; listening to the community, inviting Pro's in for analysis, and funding lots of cash in the big tournaments. This game has far surpassed my expectations, but what's even more exciting is Valve's involvement with the competitive side.
A must have for any competitive gamer or even casual gamer!
