This game is very fun, but it does have its issues. People having launch day problems and review bombing with a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ isn't helping anyone.

The matches are fast. The characters are unique. The gameplay is pretty solid.

I will say one thing though. If you value your sanity, do NOT queue solo. Find literally anyone. Install Steam on your toaster and get your dog to play. The general skill level in this game is so abysmally low that I wonder how some of these people even remember how to breathe.

A $6 game with borderline flawless netcode, a great community that just wants to have fun, and a dev that is honest as heck with what the game is.

Hop on Discord, learn some tech, share some tech, and discover what a good game is.

Also get ready to catch these Beluga hands.

I watched a few people play this on Twitch and decided to take a dive to see what kind of life I could live.

1st life:

I was born a female on a farm to a mother that loved all of her children. There were 8 of us and we were taught how to do various jobs. My older sister, Amy, was taught how to cook. I tended to the graveyard to make sure our dead were buried and respected. I routinely helped her as I often had free time. I would hand out pies being cooked so our village stayed full. We both passed our trades to our children. She died next to me surrounded by our family, and I buried her with our mother and grandmother. I mourned her death and took my place by her grave side waiting the inevitable. I told my daughter I loved her and I passed my equipment to her. She said she loved me and she would be with me soon. I died at 60.

2nd life:

I was born a female into a village with a strict birthing policy that required all sons after the first to be sacrificed to their deity. My mother taught me how to farm while she focused on hunting. She would check on me as she came back from hunting and tell me she loved me. She would also tell me how proud she was. She grew old and was unable to hunt. While she clung to life, I picked the berries from our farm and gave them to her so she could eat. She died next to me, and I buried her in the woods. I taught my 3 children how to farm and watched as they nearly doubled its size along with the village. As I neared death, I called everyone around and told them how proud I was. I told them that we needed to please the Blood God to save our village. A bear appeared and killed 2 villagers before wounding me. I died at 58.

3rd life:

I was born as a son to a struggling village. They ran out of food. We all perished. I died at 13.

4th life:

I was born as a son to a new Eve player. She said she was a terrible mother and "this was for the best." She fed me to a rattlesnake. I died at 2.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game.

Not only is this one of the best fighting games I've ever played, but the whole process of pre-ordering, downloading, and playing was the EASIEST I've ever experienced.

This is a stark contrast to the s***show that was Mortal Kombat X where, even after pre-purchasing and downloading, I had to wait several days to actually play due to some piss-poor "streaming download" system that screwed everyone on PC. What makes it even better is that NRS eventually dropped PC support completely.

The netcode is solid. Not the best I've ever seen, but it's been just fine for me. You'll get the occasional laggy opponent, but it's mostly due to their s*** wifi Uverse connection. I've been finding opponents way quicker than on SFV or INJ2. The Tournament Mode is a blast as well.

Do yourself a favor and support this great game. We need them to see how much we need more fighting game support on PC. Maybe they'll do us a solid and port the next Soul Calibur to PC.
