Fun game. Free phantom draft alone is awesome! Once you learn the rules of the game (which takes about 1 tutorial game), the game can see fairly simple. But the more you play you realize how complex it is and howmany viable choices you have every turn. It seems like the skill cap could be very high.

But the biggest thing is valve is dedicated to the long term success of this game. As they have shown time and time again, they listen to the community and constantly improve their games. Not that they just go along with every whim of random complainers on reddit. They make necessary changes. I like valve.

Early Access Review
A resource collection and crafting game without the boring or tedious parts. All collection and crafting can be automated so you never have to do the same thing over and over and over like in so many other games. Time somehow slips away from you when you play this game and hours go by without even realizing. Very good game.

I have played some of Jason Rohrer 's previous games, namely "Passage" and "Gravitation." I found it interesting that they were made as "art," designed with metaphor/symbolism or whatever and intended to make you think. Beyond the "art" part though, those games didn't really have compelling gameplay, I felt like I was playing them to discover the message, not because they were fun.

I got this game because it sounded fun, and it is. Whether it was the developer's intention or not, this game makes me think in the same ways his "art games" did, in addition to having fun and compelling gameplay. I am having trouble expressing the way this game makes me feel and think about the themes it brings up. Its complicated and I think that's the way it should be.

But at the end of the day it really is a fun game. A successful heist feels like a real accomplishment. Watching the tapes of your intruders falling prey to your traps is gratifying. And when you die or get robbed it feels really crappy... but then you have nothing to lose, so you might as well get back to robbing people :)
