(Yes this is a review about the bots)

It hurts me to have to do this, but as it is now, the game is basically unplayable

Let me start by saying this game has a special place in my heart. You see my play hours, this was my main game growing up. Ive done everything from farm kill streaks to get scammed out of my first Unusual. I am not making this review out of malice, or cruelty, but as a warning to anyone new. The game is it stands is bordering on unplayable in its current state.

Lets dive into a hypothetical for a second, you are a brand new player, you know nothing about TF2, and so you press the quick play button. You find a game and queue in. Before the match countdown starts, there are 3 bots on your team, theyre all playing overlapping music, and advertizing in the chat. They called a ban vote on you, which fortunately failed, but its left you shaken. Theres always a vote ban thing in the corner, and since it happened to you, you assume its false and either vote no or ignore it.

The game starts, you leave base, and are just immediately dead. some sniper whos not even looking at you killed you 1/60th of a second after seeing you. At this point its clearly cheating of some sort, but its just going to keep happening.

Understandably, this would probably incline you to never play the game again. And while those loyal have found ways to work around them (Mass banning bots, using the server list -- which is relatively hidden to a new player --), these are workarounds, this shouldn't be required for a game that is still supported, and allows you to spend money on.

We're all nostalgic, I understand that, but saying this game is anything near playable right now is just untrue. I miss the days of old, but as of right now, i legit cant reccomend anyone play this.

The best fighting game Capcoms ever made. Where SFV was more of an acquired taste, I can easily recommend this game to anyone.

It has many features that make the game approachable to anyone, while also still being complicated enough to offer a lasting challenge if so desired. The game also has an astonishing amount of content, More than enough for anyone to find something to love

I know its somewhat frowned upon to review a game before finishing it, but I really feel this game is getting to bad of a rep for what it is.

I'm about halfway through it (I think), but also I'm playing on serious so its taking a while. And my feelings on the game are in two parts:
1)The gameplay is satisfying and legitimately improved over SS3
2)This isn't a AAA game, its like a B tier game, so I didn't come in expecting perfection

Gameplay wise, I am having a... surprising amount of fun so far. The combat encounters are varied, the guns feel good and offer a meaty impact, it just all and all feels like an improvement over the disappointing Serious Sam 3. The also worked hard to reduce the amount of hitscan in this game, which increases the quality immensely in my book, and makes it less frustrating to play.

The environments look gorgeous, and I'm gonna go against the grain here and say they like miles better than the last games. However, the character models and mocap are pretty awful. But it sounds like that was in house so I can't exactly expect quality.

But on the matter of quality, I feel like people going into this game expecting perfection were setting themselves up for failure. This isn't some bit game company, Croteam is basically just known for Serious Sam, and while its clear they worked very hard on this one, they could only go so far, and thats okay.

I think my most valid complaint with this game is its autosave function is... Probably the worst in the series. Like on 3 separate occasions it loaded me in front of a pack of enemies with like 6 health, because I triggered an autosave mid combat. And I'm gonna guess this is due to the game trying to make their combat encounters more natural (Turning a corner rather than moving to a new box-shaped arena), it can be very frustrating. And in one of these cases I softlocked myself and needed to load a previous save.

So, all and all the game isn't perfect, a few bugs made me have to load previous saves, the auto saves are kinda ass, and the cutscenes are kind of embarassing, but once you get past these issues, there is a surprisingly good, and very enjoyable game underneath. And I at least feel it's been getting too bad of a reputation right now. I'd recommend this game to others, and I generally believe if you enjoy the serious sam formula, you'll like this one.

A deceptively simple game, but has almost endless potential and replay value

Its a great way to burn hours away, and I think right now we could all use that

Street fighter V has had an... interesting run over the past year. the game was first released far to early, had various bugs and crashes come and go, as well as moving to the controversial "Always online" style of game. and if 8 months ago you asked me if i would recomend the game, i would say hell no. But now I believe the games advanced to a point where i could recomend it to others>

If you look at other reviews, you'll see a lot of varied opinions. But what is most aperent is there was a lot of anger with this game. and much of it for the time had grounds to stand by. Allow me to put it out there that im new to the street fighter series. I only discovered it within the past 12 or so months, but i liked the look of this one. So when this game first came out, I bought it within its first week of release. and saw a lot that pissed me off. Right off the back the game had missing content. there were buttons that if you pressed them all that happened was a window would pop up with the words "Coming soon!" and it just pissed me off so much i refunded it for its predesessor (Ultra street fighter IV).

I kept this grudge till maybe may or so, i dont actually remember when, but around when balrog/ibuki were intoduced to the game. It was on sale so i gave it a second chance. It was annoying i couldnt change my fighter ID after my previous perchace, but I kept with it. and i can now say that the game is actually pretty good.

The game is now at 100% completion with the exception of anual DLC characters/costumes/maps/whatever, and it plays pretty fantasticly. The gameplay moves fluidly, looks amazing, and feels the way (i think) Street fighter should. True there has been plenty of bumps on the way, but the final product to me is a good buy. Although if you are new to the street fighter series, i might recomend waiting for this game to be on sale. As of writing this review (12/23/16) Its on sale for about 20 dollars, which is more than a rational price.

To break it down to pros and cons:

Pros:
+The gameplay feels fantastic, and thats the main part of any fighting game
+Online play is pretty stable
+Cross platform play! that should be praised reguardless of a games quality
+Story mode, it may not be perfect but its still cool to see new and old characters in an actual story.

Mixxed:
~Not all the roster is availible at the start, you start with 16 of the (currently) 23 characters, and you have to purchase the others as dlc. However all characters can be attained though determination and enough gameplay, though its an uphill battle
~this game has had a plethora of bugs, though most were with menus, and eventually fixed. I dont recal there being any actual bugs with the combat at least.
~This game may give newcomers of the series a sour taste of street fighter. So while i enjoy the game, i feel this is a bad starting point for the series.

Cons:
-DLC costumes cost rediculous ammounts of money. Six dollars for one costume is pretty steep to me. and most costumes are only atainible with real world money. Thats really annoying.
-The game came out too early and im still bitter about that, it was a full price $60 early release game, and while its fixed now i hate when companys do this.
-Kens hair looks like bananas and juris theme is trash.

So TLDR, the game was released far to early, but is now a funtional and good game. Maybe buy it on sale, and its probably a bad idea to make this your first street fighter, start with USFIV and see if youd be willing to buy a version with crisper graphics and gameplay. Ive enjoyed the game even though i sort of suck (still bronze rank after ~200 hours) but i would be willing to say give the game a shot
