This game is beautiful. The first thing that pops out at you is the graphics of the game. The characters look absolutely stunning and the world is a delight to look at. Bright and vibrant with lots to look at. There is a lot of lore in this that corresponds with what we know from the books and movies, so its neat to see these elements brought to the game.

Combat at first seems really easy and straight forward, but as things progress, it becomes much more fast paced and hectic, trying to keep an eye on all actors at once and managing how you are attacking, what spells to use on whom, and swapping between targets as necessary. The world is large enough to offer a lot to explore, but not cluttered at the same time. While it may seem empty at first, as you progress and unlock new things, more and more activities and events become available.

The world feels alive, not focused on what the player is doing. Rather than the world centered around you, it is well done in making you feel as a part of the world rather than the center of it. Students are chatting amongst themselves and conversing about things that don't concern you, but seem like would be pressing for the specific people in their own private conversation; goblins are out working their mining thing for their own purposes, other people out on the road run into problems and get slapped around by the trolls, a deer going to a river to drink may get attacked and eaten by an Oggdo Boggdo.

The lack of a morality system in this game feels interesting. We are so used to bad things happening or shaping our characters based on the choices we make or decisions we do, but in this we aren't held back by that. Rather, what we do will determine where our path is heading, and I feel that at the same time this is both a step back and also an improvement to the existing systems.

I'm just amused by the fact that we could disappear for school for weeks on end and we aren't penalized from our classes or anything.

There's a lot of reviews stating that people wish they could forget this game so they could play it fresh all over again. This review is no different. The game is amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Months after finishing the game, I'm still looking for anything that will give me the same sense of exploration and discovery. Highly recommend not looking up and spoilers for this. Just go out and explore, enjoy your time, and discover.

Yes and No.

I honestly have mixed reviews on the game. The price seems acceptable, if not a little on the high end, for a game such as this. As people have stated, this is not an underwater survival, like Subnautica. This game was never meant to be like Subnautica. I don't know where people got that idea.

Pros:
+ Enticing story
+ Unexpected ending
+ Visually appealing
+ Interesting character development
+ Voice acting done well enough

Cons:
- Short playtime: 3.5hrs got me the first ending
- Poor partner AI
- Inability to adjust cursor acceleration
- Lack of certain movements necessary for a zero-G game
- Limited resolution ratios

This game is linear. Chapter to chapter. Survive from point A to point B. There are no real enemies in the game aside from the fish and sharks. The main priority is managing resource management; keeping you and your partner with enough energy to survive. Knowing when to let her scavenge and when to keep her close. Your partner AI can be horrendous, especially in later chapters. They will travel out to interact with a node and then stop well away from it and not actually interact with it. Frequently disengaging from you to explore/scavenge and getting themselves killed.

The other con is cursor acceleration. I say cursor and not mouse, because this issue exists when using controller rather than the mouse as well. I understand the devs point here where they purposely made it "floaty" to simulate underwater conditions, but it is too much. An option to turn it off or turn it down would be nice. OR. Having a separate difficulty where all aspects the devs wanted to implement were in and nonchangeable; developer difficulty, if you would.

No vertical controls? No up/down? Why not?

Finally, the severely limited amount of resolution ratios. There's not much to say here on this.

Overall, I did enjoy the game. For the first playthrough, I thought the story was going one way and then was totally thrown for a loop with the ending epilogue notes. Then I went through in my head with all of the information I knew from the game and connected it all together. Rather neat. I wouldn't give it extremely high marks, but I would say it is worth playing. Let's say a solid 7/10 Recommended to play, but nothing you should rush to do so.

Almost drowned in the toilet. Rescued by a beautiful waifu and her sister. 10/10 would drown again!
