Great time killer or for when your up and down alot. No real downside. Can even stick your own pictures on the trains. Best strategy I can offer is pause the game the moment it opens into the map and find out where your opponents are (1 player of course) and if you can afford it make a cheap stop and use your tracks to cut off the enemy train station(s), then build up money as your enemy flounders then buy him out and liquidate, can sandbox and build money/acheivements etc...

Game no longer works on win10 64 bit, game will start but after a few moves it crashes out, seen some reviews that offer a fix but im skeptical about downloading random files, doesnt feel safe
