This is one of the best games ever made. It has a timeless style, attitude and variation. Playing with friends is a laugh. No game is the same due to the 9 classes and the choice of weapons you make. TF2 is something you should have played because you are going to love it and you will have life-long fond memories of the fun you had.

That is, until the last 3-4 years where it has been overrun by massive amounts of cheater bots and human cheaters. The whole community has gone from very fun and friendly to quite toxic. VAC essentially does nothing. Valve seems to be aware and as all big corporations, they do nothing manually and aim solely on an automated technical solution(VACNet) that seems hard to get right.

Cheaters and bots is an industry wide problem, I see on YouTube that CS2 has similar problems. There's money to be made to create a solution/system to manage it. Soon it will be pointless to create new FPS games without such a system. But Valve focused on creating yet another FPS game instead.

It's just baffling. And of course no communication from Valve. It's very disrespectful to the community to be honest.

So in the end, save yourself a lot of frustration and go play something else until Valve has got their priorities right.

I found this game to be very good. It's fascinating with the simple graphics that gets combined into such weird things as the game progresses.

You harvest "space flowers" and trade up. Your ship is entirely of your own design limited only by the current max threshold, but that will rise when you get more experience. At one point you can make bad ass battleships that can produce other ships, of your choosing. Suddenly you swing along not-so-empty space with a whole armada of minions helping you.

After the ship designing, the best feature of the game is the regeneration. Say you dive into an enemy nest and after a while you realize that this will not work, then you escape and the ship will slowly regenerate as if nothing happened.

And the music is awesome. It really captures the feeling of being alone in the big black space, and it also captures the feeling of "things are heating up, I better watch out" and so on.

I learnt the game from this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swxfEZJtZAk

He also runs Reassembly tournaments where normal to super-huge custom designs of the different races fight each other in 1-on-1 sandboxes. Worth watching even if you don't play the game. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8vKf_mXH-u7A8xd-NghdMRaeNCkVEJBm

It's short but sweet. I enjoyed it a lot. It felt refreshing to not walk around with a big gun.

On the negative side, it's too short for a replay, especially a 3rd replay which offers no challenge at all once you have some intuition on how far you can jump. Most jumps can only be done in one way, so replay value of doing things differently is not quite there. Something as easy as picking a different character with different characteristics, at the beginning of the game would go a long way towards replayability. A bit like in Super Mario Bros 2 or the arcade game Psychic 5.

For the price, the looks and mechanics, I'd say this game is offering a fun and memorable experience.

This is a fun little game. A bit like a cross between tower defense and RTS games.

Fantastic hand pixeled graphics and animations. Sound is also very nice.
