Was tired of the game crashing previously with each new patch, but the game is much more stable now

they add new content frequently and its fun to kill bugs and bots with friends and strangers

love hitting dudes with my spells

I only got 1 thing to say, I love shmapy!

At a glace Gungeon is extremely polished and features great pixel graphics and a decent soundtrack. Another huge plus is that this is not a gamemaker game and is not locked to 30 fps. The bosses are interesting and have set bullet patterns, so they can be fun to figure out the optimal stradegy to kill them without being hit

However, the game really starts to fall apart beyond that. The levels are sprawling and boring, and it feels like your character bounces along at a snails pace. there are teleporters in most rooms, but it's more of an indictment of bad game design. Basic enemies can feel like bullet sponges, increasing in HP as you descend down the levels. Without the luck to find stronger weapons, or even ammo drops when you do, you will find your self plinking away at rooms full of monsters with your starting pistol even on the later floors. There is a HUGE luck mechanic at play here, and there are very few ways to minimize it. The number of chances you get to obtain new gear is very finite so you have to make do with any scraps you get. The biggest disappointment for me was the weapon selection. the trailers hyped up a diverse and interesting arsenal of guns, but most of the time you will be stuck with boring shotgun and pistol variants.

It's possible that there are more interesting things to unlock, including a final stage and multiple endings, but I did not find the game enjoyable enough to find out.

Underwater Crab Battle game orginally released in 2011.

Plays sort of like a senko no ronde or virtual on.

The graphics look pretty nice, and it has some insanely good music.

Controls well with a controller, did not try with kbm

Ran into no technical issues, and net play worked well enough.

The language defaulted to Japanese for me, but you can swap it to english in the options menu. The cutscenes are pretty funny, not sure if that is from the localization.

Would highly reccomend, keep your eyes out for NEO AQUARIUM 2
