They took so much away in this sequel. All the short tracks are gone. Yes, all of them. Time trials is gone (my favourite mode). They improved the graphics, but, seem to have based the game entirely on the Isle of Man only. It seems every sequel messes-up the UI. Great features like racing against the leader on the leaderboard has been removed. You can't download ghosts either. They've made it open world, but, it feels pointless. There are things that the first two games did right that have been stripped away. Even the audio seems to be so basic now. Where's the whooshing sounds gone?

The devs need to go back to the drawing board and bring those features back. I think longtime fans will be disappointed. I will update my review as I spend more time with it. First impressions feels like this is a barebones graphical upgrade only.

Steam Deck + Windows 11 Pro using either official Valve APU driver or Amernime Zone custom APU driver. Totally broken. They need to get the basics right instead of breaking the game. I'm not the only one, it's broken across a variety of full desktop configs too.

Update: Latest 1.0.5.1 patch still doesn't work, however, they fixed the crash on startup issue for Intel Arc gpus. Hopefully they do the same for Steam Deck running Windows.

I'm running Windows 11 Pro on my Steam Deck and it will not let me log into my EA account in-game. This means I can't play online unless it's just a local game. Don't buy it until it's fixed if you're playing exclusively on Steam Deck with Windows. It should've never come to this. The problem with the Steam Deck is with SteamOS. Rather than just unsupport SteamOS, we Windows users also have to suffer.

Also, us gamers have had enough. We will eventually petition parliament to allow refunds for games that don't get bug fixed and this must be retrospective as well.

Are you ready EA? Because it's going to happen and every gamer is going to be behind it. Not even Valve will be able to stop the refunds.

I don't ride a bike in real life and I know nothing about them. However, I love this game and the previous one. Be warned though for new comers; this game's default settings are nearly unplayable. You will need to turn on assists and increase sensitivity etc. Otherwise, you will find it's uncontrollable. The only bad thing is that the devs KT Racing abandon their latest games too quickly. We haven't seen much of an update since launch except a patch.

This isn't a review, it's a brief note to help people who are having trouble launching this game.

TRY INSTALLING ON YOUR MAIN C DRIVE!

On my PC, it will not run from any other drive.

Good luck!

I don't know anything about bikes, I drive a car in RL. However, I love racing games. With my setup and armed with an Xbox One wireless controller; this game plays very well. Do be prepared to have to learn at least parts of the (main) track. You will also need to be a relatively skilled and focussed player to get the most out of this game. My first solo "Trophy" race took 80mins (that's 4 laps). A single lap of the Isle of Man takes roughly 20mins for me. That's the kind of time investment you will need for this game. Good luck!

Update 25th October 2017; OK, so, the game has been patched and I've also upgraded to W10 Pro 64bit directly over the top of my W7 Ultimate 64bit install, with version 1709.

What do you know? Well, the game loads fine now and between matches is roughly 20 seconds! This makes MvC:I sooo much more playable and I'm now getting that "arcade experience" that was missing with the long load-times.

Game-play wise, this game is a bit easier to learn (initially anyway) than MvC3 and mashing light punch gives an easy air combo. I'm only getting started as I've only used about 8 of the characters so far. Hopefully they will continue to improve this game.

I've changed my review score to recommended, however, I feel fans of Marvel and Capcom will get the most out of this game.

This review is with a 7200rpm spindle Hitachi drive, as well as i7 6700k and GTX1070 @1920x1200 60hz. CPU+GPU are irrelevant, though. When you get into matches it runs fine.

This is a new game and this is a very short review stating the bad points while using a spindle drive, so bare that in-mind. The main thing that kills this game for me is the loading times, which often are longer than gameplay/matches. There are loads of these loading problems, even when just viewing your collection of models/pictures/concept art. I'm using a spindle drive so if you're using the same, then, waiting a minute or more per match is something you're going to have to deal with. I have read people running from SSD drives still have to wait around a minute and they're turning graphics options down -_- Mine are full right now, so, I can't try it on SSD.

Basically, it loses any sense of being an "arcade" fighting game. The one saving grace this game has is that if you lose, then, rematches are instant. Phew, without that this game would be a refund.

Capcom needs to optimise loading, or else this game is DOA. It needs to be more spontaneous like MvC of old.

My recommendation is neither yes or no, if there was a middle option I would pick it for this game.

Wait for this game to be patched, its quite buggy. I'm not going to go into details as people will just get triggered. Go look in the forum.

However, the biggest change for me is the reduction from 54 cars on track at once to only 32 vs PCars1. I will re-buy this at a later date, for me right now it's not ready. If you're a gamepad user, you might struggle compared to PCars1. Good luck!

This game runs really well and seems to be rock solid, no crashes. I use 1920x1200 and it does seem to have a problem detecting this resolution. I managed to fix this by choosing "Maximised" and dropping the preset gfx settings down, then, going back-up to Ultra, then, setting back to "full-screen". Keep checking your resolution to see if it's been correctly detected, it's a bit hit n miss. Don't touch anything after this, especially not trying to change Ambient Occlusion, otherwise it'll go back to 1080p. Game plays really nicely, kinda like Batman Arkham games with a LoTR skin, but, with minimal stupid missions and combat is really nice with plenty of perks to unlock as you go. Recommended for Orc killers and LoTR fans.
