Liquidum is a unique take on the standard logic grid puzzles and I had a blast playing through the campaign. But the best part of the game is the workshop and the leaderboards. You can build your own puzzles and play puzzles made by other players. Plus, there's a daily puzzle with a leaderboard so you can track the competition between yourself and your friends, or look at how you stack up across the globe.

Add this to your must-have list of high-quality indie puzzlers. Right up there with Hexcells and Tiny Bubbles.

Oh, and it's on Android too. Puzzle on the go if that's your jam. Need I say more?

a haiku by a 17th century philosopher who died after winning a game of bingo:

a game of bingo
is fun to play, 'ere it is.
all hail bingo ball!

brilliant. the game picks up the quality of the first and expands on it. the environment gets under your skin in this creepy, awkward way that makes you want to itch in the same way when you see someone in a movie or a show pull their fingernail off. the atmosphere is dark and foreboding and leaves you wanting to go into the next room just as much as you don't want to go into the next room, afraid of what you might discover, excited for what the next challenge holds.

Having enjoyed the Hexcells games, and sharing them with my wife who became quite addicted, I picked up Matthew Brown's Cypher without thinking twice.

This game is for those who enjoy a challenge, who want to see something different in a puzzle game, and have a large storage tank of patience.

Even the hints in this game only show you the start of understanding how you should try to solve the puzzle. They don't get you right up next to the solution, as other hints in puzzle games tend to.

I've been playing the entire game through on stream with a great group of people and we've made it to the Challenge Puzzles, currently 2/12 complete, with all 6 previous rooms at 100%. The benefit of going through cryptograms like this is I've learned ASCII, binary, XOR gates, morse, and even basic enigma solving methods. That's insane. And I'm loving it.

I'm going to repeat this again, as some people who put up threads on discussion boards have been complaining about issues with rigid structure for cyptology solutions: this game is difficult. And can sometimes be miserable with the amount of effort and struggle involved.

So this game is NOT for two types of people:

1. Those that come into the game EXPECTING this to be just like their own previous experience in cryptology.
2. Those who, upon struggling for a short amount of time with something, want to have the answers given to them.

This game IS for people who:

1. Want to learn about cryptology.
2. Want a significant challenge.
3. Don't mind hitting their head against a wall with no signs of progress.

I recommend this game to any and all puzzlers for the price. It can't be beat.

Cheers.
