* Very steep price for a DLC
* Low amount of content tied to that price range.
* Forgetting the key part in Beach Properties, namely the Beach itself.
* Have four palms tied behind a paywall.

Does the End really justify the Means, Paradox?

"Promising Concept, But Riddled with Glitches"
Im just going ahead and say it: this is basically Cities Skylines 1.5

Cities: Skylines 2, which should have been in early access, demonstrates some promising upgrades to its predecessor. However, the game is currently plagued by numerous bugs, performance issues, and missing features that detract from the overall experience.

While the improved graphics and initial gameplay improvements are evident, the game feels incomplete and lacks the depth expected from a sequel.

With many features still in development (or hoping that modders will fix), it's clear that there's much work to be done before this game can reach its full potential.

Approach with caution until more substantial updates/fixes are implemented.

A Promising Concept with Room for Improvement
★★★☆☆

Necesse offers a captivating top-down sandbox experience with its procedurally generated world and a wide array of activities to indulge in. As an action-adventure game, it certainly has its fair share of strengths, but also a few notable shortcomings that prevent it from reaching its full potential.

One of the game's strongest aspects is its immersive world. The procedurally generated landscapes provide a sense of discovery and unpredictability, ensuring that no two playthroughs are the same. Exploring the vast and diverse environments is a thrilling experience, and it constantly keeps you engaged and curious about what lies around the next corner.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, Necesse succeeds in offering a variety of activities to engage in. From intense combat encounters to resource gathering through mining and crafting, there's always something to do. Progressing your character's gear and settlement adds a satisfying layer of depth to the game, allowing you to tailor your gameplay experience to your own preferences.

However, Necesse does stumble in a few areas, while the concept of progression through various activities is appealing, the execution leaves much to be desired. The pacing of the tiers system feels uneven, with some activities yielding minimal rewards, leading to a sense of grinding without significant payoff. It would have been more satisfying to see a clearer and more rewarding progression system that incentivizes players to engage in all the available gameplay mechanics.

Another aspect that leaves something to be desired is the game's storytelling. While Necesse offers a vast world to explore, it fails to provide a compelling narrative to drive the player's motivation. The absence of a strong storyline can make the gameplay feel somewhat aimless, especially for players who crave a deeper sense of purpose and direction.

Furthermore, the user interface and controls could benefit from some refinement. They can feel clunky and unintuitive at times, leading to occasional frustration and hindering the fluidity of gameplay. A more streamlined interface and responsive controls would greatly enhance the overall experience.

In conclusion, Necesse has the potential to captivate players with its top-down sandbox action-adventure concept and procedurally generated world. While there are enjoyable aspects, such as the crafting system and the freedom to shape your character's journey, the game falls short in terms of combat mechanics and progression. With some refinements and adjustments, Necesse could evolve into a truly remarkable experience.

This game is fantastic
Game play wise, it plays out like 50/50 split between Restaurant sim/Resource gathering, it makes sense since your operating a Sushi restaurant and a diver.

  • The music is great
  • The cutscenes being in 8bit pixel is cool addition
  • The story is interesting
  • The dialogue is very amusing
  • The minigames are okayish
  • The game play with the dive and explore element is quite nice. The survival element of the diving portion is tied in with the oxygen meter, If you have too much of a load you'll get slowed down. if you lose all the oxygen down there, you end up at the boat and only lose your fish that session (except for 1 thing/fish you can bring with you)
  • The restaurant portion is nice as well, with there is no cliche dept looming over it like some other games (like its gonna gets repossessed by the bank) You help out at the resturant with serving and help set the menu for the guests to eat.

The story is locked at a certain point, planned for the rest to be in full release.

Despite this the game is still great and worth the price
