Early Access Review
I would like to talk about the development cycle of this game being that it is in early access. I backed the game for $30 USD in April 2013 on Kickstarter, while the project timelines of the original crowd funding were not met, the transparency and progress on the game by the developers at Radiant Entertainment have always been thoroughly communicated.

Despite original project timelines not being met, the team has continued to grow and be staffed were needed, which in my opinion demonstrates sound management on the part of team. This is not a pick up and run with your money type of project. Updates are provided consistently and feedback is incorporated via the games blog, forum, trello roadmap, and Tom and Tony's tri-weekly twitch development streams.

Radiant Entertainment was founded by evo2k (the fighting game tournament) and shoryuken.com, founders Tony and Tom Cannon, who had years of working at vmware before venturing on this project. Tony Cannon also wrote netcode middleware GGPO, which was a turning point for online play in the fighting game genre. I backed the game because of their history, these two have remained accountable and have earned the FGCs trust having been a cornerstone of the community.

To conclude, the development of this game two years after its successful crowdfunding campaign continues to demonstrate a level of accountability and trust that is among the best of early access games.

This game is not Project Cars or Asseto Corsa; nor is it sim-lite in the shadow of Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport.

Its simcade, a damn near perfect one at that, looking past its last-gen roots, its a damn fine game that achieves the driving pleasure of the likes of the Project Gotham Racing and TOCA franchises of yesteryear.

Moving away from GRID2, which I thankfully had the pleasure of not playing; the game features a motorsport influence, with qualifying and practice sessions availbile, another notable feature is the race length, with the preferred length of choice being the 2x setting.

The tracks are sublime, featuring both fantasy real world city circuits and lengends such as Spa in reverse, something other developers have stated impossible due to licensing.

Lastly the game is suprbly optimized, running at medium-high settings managing 35-55 frames-per-second on the likes of a MBPr at 1280x720.
